Music Feed: Down With The Click

It's a written rule that a famed male rapper with a click have a female rapper. The click serves as an introduction to that said female rapper. The click's album and a variety of guest appearances set the stage for the female rapper's solo debut album. From here on out, most female rappers outgrow their clicks and succeeds the other lesser known members.

The female rappers listed below are mentioned alongside their perspective clicks or former clicks.

Rah Digga, Flipmode
Rah Digga is one of the few female rappers where most would agree that she can and will outshine most if not all male rappers. With the infamous Flipmode squad, Rah Digga could be heard on singles such as 'I Know What You Want' and 'Touch It'.

Nicki Minaj, Young Money
Nicki Minaj possesses a cartoonish and animated flow that makes just about every lyric she spits stand out; even some of the more silly ones. Young Money's own Lil' Wayne scooped Nicki Minaj up after viewing her on the rap DVD, 'The Come Up'.

Foxy Brown, The Firm
Once Foxy Brown got on, she hooked up with Nas, AZ, and Nature to form The Firm who were responsible for such hits as 'Firm Biz'.

Lil' Kim, Junior Mafia
One of the many examples of a female rapper outshining her male counterparts came in the form of Junior Mafia. Lil' Kim could be heard on the singles, "Need You Tonight' and 'Player's Anthem'.

Eve, Ruff Ryders
DMX picked the perfect female counterpart in Eve; someone who was strong and assertive and took no bull!

Charli Baltimore/Vita, Murder Inc.
Ja Rule and Irv Gotti was riding high with Murder Inc. when they added the infamous Charli Baltimore to their roster of talent. Fellow rapstress Vita was already signed to the label and both females were featured on the single, 'Down 4 U'.

Remy Ma, Terror Squad
Fat Joe saw the potential in Remy Ma as did many others. Remy Ma blessed such tracks as 'Lean Back' and 'Take You Home'.

Shawnna, Disturbing The Peace
It was on the Disturbing The Peace compilation where Shawnna's 'Gettin Some Head' song turned into a surprise hit prompting her second album, 'Block Music'.
