Making His Band

No, I am not talking about Diddy's "Making His Band". You ever hear of the saying "behind every good man is a good woman"? Well I have come up with my own, "behind every good girl group is a thirsty man"! Why? Well over the years several men (whether they be producers or writers) have orchestrated some of the world's most successful girl groups. Their involvement with the group didn't just end with songwriting credits, it extended beyond the studio and perhaps probably in the studio.

Here, you will learn about some of the key men behind some of the world's most successful girl groups. You will also learn how they played a part in tearing these groups apart.

Hurby "Luv Bug" Azor
Hurby was one of the masterminds behind Salt N Pepa. He also dated Cheryl "Salt" James. Sandi "Pepa" Denton didn't get along with Hurby. A good deal of this story was covered on VH1's "Behind The Music" which aired a few years back.

Sean "Diddy" Combs
The name alone conjures up many emotions for people including myself. Despite all that, Diddy is responsible for girl groups such as Total and Danity Kane. The focus here is his relationship with Danity Kane's Aubrey O'Day who Diddy often bickered with. Many speculated that the two had a relationship outside of the studio. Later on the two would bump heads and Diddy eventually kicked Aubrey out of Danity Kane.

Dallas Austin
Dallas Austin is not one to bite his tongue and many of the things he says are very offensive to many. Dallas has played a huge part in the success of TLC. He also bickered constantly with Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez all the while having a child with Rozanda "Chili" Thomas. The group suffered many fallouts with Dallas over the years but like family everyone would kiss and make up.

L.A. Reid
Like Dallas Austin, L.A. Reid was rumored to be dating Chili and dating a boss or even a producer always causes a problem within any group; special treatment, jealously, envy, etc.
