Usher Debuts New Single!
Usher is airing out his dirty laundry. The R&B superstar will address the end of his marriage on the first offering from his new album, set to debut Monday.I can't say I'm too excited about this new song. It sounds very gimmicky but then again the last few Usher albums have all been plagued by gimmicks but they have worked moreso on the "Confessions" album. I hope the song is good though. There has been a lot of talk about this song and the new album.
The title of the song, originally reported to be “Filing Papers,” has been confirmed as “Papers” by Jive Records. It was penned by Sean Garrett.
The new single was supposedly written before Usher announced his divorce from Tameka Foster. “Let’s say I wrote a record for Usher three or four months ago where I really didn’t have any idea of what he was going through personally,” Garrett told MTV News in June. “I felt that was the direction we needed to go. I felt that was the question everyone wanted to know: Was [his relationship] good or was it bad? Was it right? Are you happy or you’re not?”
“Papers” will premiere on Monday, October 5, at 2:02 p.m. EST, unless the Internet gets its hands on it earlier. Usher’s sixth studio album Monster is due in December.
Timbaland Plans New Album!
Timbaland is ready to shock the world once again with the sequel to his platinum-selling album Timbaland Presents Shock Value. Here goes Timbaland, yet another producer putting an album out. Fortunately for Timbaland he was quite successful with his solo debut album unlike a lot of other producers. I don't care much for Timbaland though after how he did Ginuwine so dirty.
The follow-up to 2007’s star-studded project will be released on November 24, Rap-Up.com can confirm. Collaborators include Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Shakira, Kings of Leon, Miley Cyrus, Daughtry, The Fray, and Paramore.
The first single, described as having a vampire theme reminiscent of Twilight, will feature the super-producer’s new French artist SoShy. It is expected to debut this month.
Timbaland’s original Shock Value spawned the hit singles “Give It to Me” featuring Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake, “The Way I Are” featuring Keri Hilson and D.O.E., and “Apologize” with OneRepublic.
