Rodney Jerkins Talks New Janet Album!
Janet Jackson is kicking it old school with her forthcoming album and followup to "Discipline".

"It’s a hybrid of the old Rhythm Nation stuff, the Control, the Janet. record, The Velvet Rope. Those records make you feel a certain way," says hit-making producer Rodney Jerkins.

According to Jerkins, he and Janet have been busy rekindling that 'feel good' and dance hungry sound that fans had been accustomed to.

"We’re going back to basics and fundamental sounds of Janet. A lot of uptempo stuff makes you feel good. There’s so many different colors of Janet," Jerkins told MTV earlier this week.

News of Jackson's direction for the as-yet-untitled album follows Monday's release of a song titled "Make Me".

Released just after Jackson performed a lauded tribute to late brother and entertainer, Michael Jackson, Janet told fans the song was a "gift".

Jerkins, making note of the gift, says “It’s all about her. It’s about [saying], ‘Listen, if you really want to get with me, you gotta make me feel a certain way."

Janet Jackson's forthcoming as-yet-untitled album is due for release early 2010.
