Not only is Beyonce a singer on stage or in videos, she is also a singer on the big screen. Many of Beyonce's [acting] roles cast her as a singer who has to overcome some type of odds, much like her real-life story.

Beyonce stars as a single mother who joins a church choir against the wishes of many of the church congregation and choir.

Can you believe I've never saw "The Pink Panther"? Well I'm sure I'm not the only one but I remember Beyonce singing in a clip. Is it safe to say that she did play a singer in this role as well?

Beyonce stars as Carmen, an ambitious young woman who is set on making it as a star no matter what it takes.

Dreamgirls
This is perhaps Beyonce's most popular role[and movie]next to "Obsessed". Beyonce stars as Deena Jones, who gets her start in a singing group before she is pushed into a solo career against her wishes by her money hungry producer.
