There had been a little controversy involving Jay-Z and his alleged blocking of Chris Brown from performing at the BET awards. Reportedly the Jackson family wanted Chris Brown to pay tribute to Michael Jackson but Jay-Z insisted he wouldn't perform if Chris took the stage. Jay-Z's animosity towards Chris is in regards to his alleged beating of Rihanna. Jay-Z Roc's With New Label, Album!
As previously reported, Jay-Z has inked a distribution deal with Sony for his Roc Nation label, the Brooklyn-born rapper confirmed to Billboard last week.
"Sony is Roc Nation. That's where Roc Nation's going through," Jay-Z told Billboard.com on Friday (June 29).
As for the deal he recently signed with Atlantic, he clarifies that it is a one-off situation for his upcoming album, "Blueprint 3," slated for a September 11th release.
Viewing For Michael Jackson's Body!
Michael Jackson's body will be driven to his Neverland Valley Ranch in central California as early as Thursday with public viewing being set for later this week, according to media reports on Tuesday.Micheal Jackson Rocks Billboard Charts!
A motorcade of as many as 30 cars is expected to accompany Jackson's body to his ranch, which is located near the town of Los Olivos, north of Santa Barbara, according to reports by TV network CNN and celebrity website TMZ.com, citing police officials.
Michael Jackson is about to rock the Billboard charts.Of course this is all good news for Michael and his fans. Unfortunately though these albums won't be making the Billboard 200 charts but the Top Pop Albums catalog which features older albums which still sell consistently from week to week.
Nielsen SoundScan's sales numbers won't be released until Wednesday (July 1) morning, but industry prognosticators indicate that three of Jackson's albums -- "Number Ones," "The Essential Michael Jackson" and "Thriller" -- each sold around 100,000 copies last week. The sales tracking week ended at the close of business on Sunday (June 28) night.
