5 Reasons Why People Don't Buy CDs Like They Used To

1. Expensive - The best time to buy a new title is the first week of release or if the album is a top seller, it usually stays on sale[except at Best Buy].

2. Downloading - When you download an album, you basically are getting it for free. Really when you think about it though you are still spending money to get it. The record companies and artists may not be getting that money but you have to have internet or you have to pay a bootlegger to get you an album or even a mix CD.

3. Promotion - Sometimes people don't even know that albums are out. You don't know how many times people have told me or said "Oh I didn't know they had a CD out!". Record companies fault. And a whole lot of others.

4. Quality - CD's just don't contain a lot of quality music anymore. There has been a serious decline of quality CD's in the last few years. I will say that the downward spiral in sales have forced some artists to work harder and go beyond to make a quality album.

5. Extras - A lot of friends have told me record companies should include something extra like a DVD or something to get people to buy a CD. It's an extra perk and after all why not.
