Mariah Preps New Album!
Mariah Carey will release her twelfth studio album, "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel," August 25 on Island Def Jam, the singer announced today (June 16). The debut single, "Obsessed," is co-written and produced by Carey, The-Dream and Tricky Stewart and has shipped to radio, while a music video directed by Brett Ratner is forthcoming.
With "Obsessed" impacting radio yesterday, as you can see the release date has been pushed up quite a few weeks. What is more interesting is the album comes out a week before Whitney Houston's album. I guess this will prove to be a good marketing strategy. Meanwhile "Obsessed" premiered and on top of that the remix featuring Gucci Mane leaked out way ahead of its supposed release date.

Spectacular To Pose Nude?
The staff at FlavaMen magazine doesn’t care whether Spectacular, the front man for R&B quartet Pretty Ricky, is gay or straight. All they know is the quarterly magazine’s parent company, gay adult studio Flava Works, managed to round up $100,000 to offer the singer in exchange for his nude body on the pages of their next issue.

“The company has secured and confirmed private investors to provide [Spectacular] with $100,000 in compensation for a photo spread featuring him as the magazine’s cover model,” a FlavaMen statement noted Friday.

The offer was set in motion in late May when, in an attempt to drum up buzz for Pretty Ricky’s upcoming single “Tipsy,” Spectacular posted on YouTube a video of him grinding to the tune — wearing only skimpy red briefs.

Chris Brown Denied Trial Delay!
The California Supreme Court has refused to intervene or delay Chris Brown's preliminary hearing.

Court records show a petition filed by Brown's attorney to delay the crucial hearing was denied on Wednesday.

Brown is due back in court on Monday for a preliminary hearing, after which a judge will decide whether there is enough evidence for his case to go to trial.

Brown was arrested in February on suspicion that he beat his then-girlfriend, Rihanna. The 21-year-old Barbados-born singer could testify during the hearing.
