Music Feed: Musical Suits

I've been on an Ashanti kick lately. I say that because if you pay attention to the little signatures at the top and bottom depending on the post, you will see what I'm listening to and the last three posts have been Ashanti songs. I like Ashanti so what can I say. Anyway...

Onto tonight's music feed..I will say that Toni Braxton's latest lawsuit inspired this post(you can check that out a few posts down). I decided to examine artists who are usually the subject of a lawsuit. It doesn't matter what kind but most of the time its usually music related.

The following list of artists occasionally get caught up in a musical(law) suit from time to time. I don't go too in to detail of the lawsuits here but I touch basis on a few so check out the list below!

Toni Braxton - Ever since her bankruptcy and falling out with LaFace, Toni Braxton has virtually had some type of lawsuit she's encountered since she burst onto the scene in 1992. Toni's latest lawsuit involves the star suing an insurance company after her Las Vegas show, "Revealed" had to be cancelled due to illness.

Jennifer Lopez - A singer claiming Jennifer Lopez used her voice on several tracks and wasn't probably credited filed a lawsuit! Over the years lawsuits involving several samples from songs has landed Jennifer in hot water such as "All I Have" which samples Debra Laws classic, "Very Special".

Beyonce - Beyonce is not exactly original by any means and from her stack of lawsuits you would think Beyonce would try and be more original. The song "Flaws And All" from "B'Day" was used without permission and was later removed from copies of "B'Day".

DMX - DMX's lawsuits deal more with this rapper's troubled behavior. Car theft, perculiar behavior, and animal cruelty has earned DMX a bad rep over the years.

Foxy Brown - Like pal DMX, Foxy Brown's lawsuits deal with her troubled behavior. Fights, court drama, and unruly behavior has landed Foxy high on the list of stars with lawsuits.

Snoop Dogg - The image Snoop portrays on TV is one that is too cool for school. The coolness the rapper exhibits on TV and interviews somehow goes out the window when the cameras are off. If the rapper is going through an international airport or being caught up in a decade out case, Snoops always has some type of lawsuit brewing over his head.

Lil' Wayne - Lil' Wayne's "The Carter 3" brought Lil' Wayne millions of album sales and also millions of lawsuits due to several songs from the album including "Playing With Fire" and even those that didn't make the album. Crazy huh?

Well there you have it...another music feed! Did you like? You bet had! Come back again and before you know it I will have conjured up another one.
