Grammy's Are In!
The Grammys are turning a dry nominations announcement into an
hourlong TV special."The Grammy Nominations Concert Live! -- Countdown to
Music's Biggest Night" will air Dec. 3. The Grammy Awards are scheduled for Feb.
8 on CBS.The show is a departure for the Grammys and other major awards. Top
Academy Award and Emmy nominations, for instance, are announced in brief
ceremonies that air as news stories -- not as commercially supported
programs.
Ne-Yo's Triple Dose!
Chart-topping R&B artist Ne-Yo is going multihyphenate. The
singer is set to star in, executive produce and write the soundtrack for Fox
Atomic's romantic feature "Venice Beach.""Venice" centers on an 18-year-old
Manhattan Beach woman who, after her talented older sister dies in a car
accident, represses her own singing talent until she meets a gifted
musician-singer (Ne-Yo) from Venice Beach. A budding romance between the two
turns into a quest for musical careers, which meets resistance from his friends
and her family.
Don Cornelius Arrested!
According to TMZ, Don Cornelius was booked last night (October
18th) for felony domestic assault. A call from an unidentified source called
from the home of the Soul Train legend where the LAPD immediately responded.
Cornelius was given a ticket to the back of the squad car and taken to jail in
Van Nuys where he posted $50,000 bail early this morning. Stay tuned to

Big Stars Unite!
50 Cent, Kanye West, Ludacris, Beyonce, John Legend, Nelly and more
have come together to show their support for veterans of the Iraq and
Afghanistan wars with the upcoming event, "A Night for Vets: An MTV Concert for
the BRAVE" airing later this month. According to the Associated Press, the mega
stars will unite for the one-night show which will include both live and
pre-recorded performances from each artist as they pay homage to the efforts
made by the men and women who have been called to duty. A Night for Vets: An MTV
Concert for the BRAVE" will air on Friday, October 24 at 8 p.m. EST on
MTV.
