Don't Get Caught In A Notorious Def Jam

Video: Notorious
Here it is. Check out the exclusive preview for the upcoming Notorious B.I.G. biopic, "Notorious" starring Angela Bassett and Derek Luke.

This is actually one of the few movies I might go see in the theatres when it comes out.

Rodney Jerkins on Janet Jackson's leaving Def Jam!
"We made a great record with the record 'Feedback.' We felt like we made a great record with a song called 'Luv' that was supposed to be the second single, but we just feel like we didn't get the support from the record company," he said in the interview. "She was asking to be released and got released."He continued, "I have a great relationship established with her now. I told her, 'Whatever you need, whatever type of record you make, I'm here.' I would love to do another album with her, I've expressed that to her, where I could make an album with her - possibly me, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis."He went on to say that Janet is not considering recording another album until after the tour is over.
I'm glad Janet left Def Jam. Things started out good but got progressively worse.

Nate Dogg's Condition Worsens!
E! News is reporting that singer Nate Dogg was in worse condition than initially reported after suffering a stroke nearly two weeks ago, his second in less than a year. The artist's cousin, former rap artist Lil Half Dead, said Nate was on life support at a Los Angeles-area hospital and was hooked up to a feeding tube as of Wednesday. He has since been taken off of life support, but the feeding tube is still inserted, according to TMZ.
Mariah Carey Releases Ballads!
Several of Mariah Carey's ballads are set to be released through a compilation album entitled "Ballads" next month. According to Billboard, the 18-track compilation album of Mariah Carey's love songs, dubbed "Ballads," is scheduled for release in the U.S. and Canada in January from Sony BMG. The album will include classic Carey material like "Hero," "Dreamlover," "Anytime You Need A Friend" and "Vision Of Love," among others.
Slip-N-Slide is not playing around. 3 of its most popular acts are all working on new albums. Plies will release his new album, "The Realest" on December 16. The album is preceded by first single, "Pants Hang Low" produced by Mannie Fresh. Meanwhile Rick Ross will release "Deeper Than Rap" in early 2009. Trina is also in the studio recording the follow-up to her "Still Da Baddest" album. I like the title of Ross' new album and of course I'm looking forward to a new Trina album.
