Poll: Michelle Williams or Solange
Mathew Knowles and company have been on a roll! New singles from Columbia/Geffen/MusicWorld artists Solange and Michelle Williams have both went to #1. Now both ladies are set to release their perspective albums this August.
First up is former Destiny's Child member Michelle Williams who will release her new album, "Unexpected" on August 12. The album is preceded by the #1 single, "We Break The Dawn". The album sports collaborations from Solange, Rico Love[producer for Usher], Jim Jonsin[producer for Lil' Wayne], and Stargate. The title "Unexpected" refers to unexpected switch for secular music to sacred music to secular music. You can also add the Euro-Pop sound that Michelle has added to her repertoire.
Next is Solange who will release, "Sol-Angel & The Hadley Streets Dreams" on August 26. The album is preceded by first single, "I Decided" which recently went to #1. The album sports collaborations from Jack Splash, Mark Ronson, Q-Tip, Pharrell Williams, Cee-Lo, and Marsha Ambrosius[of Floetry]. "Hadley" refers to the street in which the MusicWorld company stands. Like Amy Winehouse, Solange puts a fresh spin on music from the 60s with a modern twist.
Multiple songs from both of these upcoming projects have leaked out. Both artists have released prior albums which were met with lukewarm responses.
