News Flash: Slim Thug Leaves Label
Dirty South rapper Slim Thug will be free from his contract with label Interscope Records. The rapper expressed his disdain with the label back in 2006 when his album, "Already Platinum" only went gold. The rapper will now concentrate on his group and his upcoming album, "Boss Of All Bosses". His group Tha Boss Hog Outlawz will release their album through Koch Records. There is no word on the release date. There is also no release date for a new Slim Thug album. These days if your not pulling units, you drop down the list of priority for the label. Slim was able to sell more copies as an independent artist. It looks like he will be going back to the route.
Singer/Songwriter Ne-Yo will be releasing his new album, "Year Of The Gentleman" on June 24. The singer plans to collaborate with Alicia Keys, Jordin Sparks, Jay-Z, Rihanna, John Mayer, and Natasha Bedingfield. Unfortunately due to everyone's schedule being so different, these collabs are not yet set in stone. Nowadays though a lot of the collabs between artists aren't even recorded at the same time. I'm sure some of the collabs will happen like that if they do prosper. Look for Ne-Yo's debut single/video, "Closer" to air in the coming weeks.
There are rumors that suggest that Beyonce will retire after this third album! I find that hard to believe. Beyonce is too much of an overachiever to just up and quit making albums. I highly doubt that! Only time will tell though. This is a big story though as it is spreading like wildfire as with any Beyonce story. The Knowles clan ain't been up on they job. They usually shoot down rumors and allegations at the drop of a dime. Well not anymore!
Add rapper Busta Rhymes' new album, "Blessed" to the already long list of albums to be released this June. The album now has a street date of June 17. The album's first single is "We Made It" featuring Linkin Park. As previously reported the new album houses collaborations with Jamie Foxx, Mary J. Blige, and more.
