Daily Roundup: 50 Cent Plays Games

June is Black History Month and though June is still a month in a half away, it is looking to be a really big and interesting month for music. We already have albums coming out from Ashanti, Chris Brown, Nelly, Ne-Yo, and more. Now added to the list will be rappers Common, "Invincible Summer" and G-Unit's "Shoot To Kill" which will both be released June 24. I notice that 50 Cent is looking to capitalize off his much-publicized record sale rivalry with Kanye West. Dropping the same day as rival rapper The Game who will release his third album, "Los Angeles Times". Hey! I think it is a good marketing ploy. I know both rappers better bring the heat especially 50 since a lot of people didn't like his last album even though I did.

Rapper Eve was set to release her new "Here I Am" nearly a year ago when it suddenly was placed on hold indefinitely. Eve had released two singles, the club-ready "Tambourine" and the pop-opus "Give It 2 You" featuring Sean Paul. The former was a minor chart hit but the latter stalled. Now Eve is FINALLY releasing "Here I Am" but it won't be released here in the states, not now anyway. It is instead being released exclusively in Australia on April 14. Once the album is released in Australia, it will eventually leak to the states. A lot of albums that get shelved in the states usually find release overseas and end up being moderately successful. Let's see what noise Eve's album conjures up overseas.

Singer Solange will release her new album, "Soul Angel & The Hadley Street Dreams" on August 26. The album is preceded by the first single, "I Decided" produced by The Neptunes. The album sports collaborations from Soulshock & Karlin, Cee-Lo, Lil' Wayne, Jack Splash (worked with Alicia Keys), Mark Ronson (worked with Amy Winehouse), and Swizz Beats. I'm eager to hear what Solange has come up with for this new album. The best way to get out of her big sis' Beyonce's shadow is to really do something really different musically or make a sex tape!

Former TLC member Chili has signed a record deal with Epic Records. The singer known primarily for her work with TLC and dating Usher recently released a track titled, "Dumb Dumb Dumb". There is no word on whether this song is the first single or not. There is also no known release date. TLC member T-Boz will also be releasing a solo debut album sometime in the near future. I can't say I'm really checking for Chili like that. I have to hear some more songs before I'm completely sold.

Rapper Khia is releasing her new album, "Nasti Muzik" on June 17. The album is likely to capitalize off Khia's stint on VH1's upcoming reality show, "Miss Rap Supreme" premiering Monday, April 14 at 10 p.m. Khia recently unleashed a scatching diss towards radio shock jock Wendy Williams currently embroiled in a sex scandal with her husband, Kevin Hunter. Leave it to Khia to constantly stir up trouble and keep people talking. If only it helped her rap career.

R&B singer R Kelly will release a new untitled album this summer. The first single, "Hair Braider" was recently released. The singer plans to launch a hair braiding contest in conjuction with the album. Kelly's last album, "Double Up" featured the hit singles, "I'm A Flirt" and "Same Girl" featuring Usher. I thought "Double Up" was a really decent album. It is probably the first Kells album I really allowed myself to get into.
