Daily Roundup: It's Game Time

Rapper The Game will release his new album, "Los Angeles Times" on June 24. It is the follow up to his platinum, "The Doctor's Advocate" album which spawned the hit, "One Blood". Rumored to be his third and final album, the West Coast rapper plans to tackle some whether controversial issues. The recently leaked single, "Big Dreams" is not only a prelude of things to come from the upcoming album but is now the album's first single. Rap duo Cool & Dre had a hand in production as did longtime collaborator/mentor Dr. Dre. Game can currently be heard on a newly released song by former Floetry songstress, Marsha Ambrosius entitled, "What's Going On". The song samples The Isley Bros. "Footsteps In The Dark". I have heard "Big Dreams" and I think it is a poor choice for first single. I don't know what it is with Game and picking singles. I feel like he picked all the wrong singles for his last album with the exception of "One Blood". I also think Game was purposely picking songs radio would ignore to prove a point. I am a fan of Game's and I am looking forward to this new album.

After numerous delays Lil' Wayne has finally set a release date to his long awaited album, "The Carter 3" which will land in stores May 13. The album is preceded by first single, "Lollipop" featuring Static Major. Elsewhere on the album Kanye West, Hurricane Chris, and Lil' Mama are some of the rumored guests on this classic in the making. I know a lot of people are anticipating this album. It would be a shame that all this hype surrounding the project becomes a total letdown. It has been the been case in the past with certain artists. Of course I'm not wishing anything bad on Lil' Wayne but do you get my drift? Maybe...maybe not!

R&B singer Kelly Rowland has not let the disappointing sales of her 2007 "Ms Kelly" album deter her. The former Destiny's Child singer will be begin working on her third solo album very soon. I am glad Kelly is not letting record sales play a part in whether she continues to be a recording artist. I hope this next album is promoted better than "Ms. Kelly". I still think Kelly would be better off if she left the Knowles clan.

I reported yesterday how R&B group Blaque was reuniting. Well it looks like the women will also be the subject of an upcoming reality show to appear on an unknown network at presstime. Click here for an exclusive preview of the upcoming show!

Singer Fantasia has removed a tumor that had grown on her vocal chords. I'm glad she got it taken care of. It would be a terrible thing for someone of her stature to lose that powerful voice she has.
