The Daily Roundup: 50 Cent Speaks Out

You can't believe everything you read......and see for that matter. Even though there is a saying that "seeing is believing". There was a video (which I never saw by the way) of 50 Cent allegedly telling socialite and heiress Paris Hilton to "get the f*** off his stage!" The controversial rapper spoke exclusively to MTV where he did a lot of boasting, bragging, and most importantly some rumor control. The video in which 50 is allegedly yelling at Hilton is actually directed at a security guard. The security guard was constantly approaching the stage and getting in the way. The security guard happened to be on stage during the same time as Hilton making it appear as if 50 were referring to her. Meanwhile 50 took time to dish about his latest musical endeavors including a recently released mixtape, "Return Of The Body Snatchers Vol 1.". 50 is working diligently on a new album titled, "Before I Self Destruct". Whoops! Looks like he already did that. The G-Unit album (that was supposed to be released last year) is called, "Lock & Load" and will be released sometime this year. 50 Cent's most recent album, "Curtis" debuted at #2 last September behind Kanye West's "Graduation" album and to date has sold roughly 1.2 million copies. The "Curtis" album is largely considered a flop despite selling over a million copies. If an artist is used to selling 5 million or more records on their last two albums ("Get Rich Or Die Trying" and "The Massacre" and the latest one doesn't do those kind of numbers, it is quickly labeled a flop even if it is somewhat successful.

Wonder what happened to rapper Eve and her album, "Here I Am"? After the failure of "Give It To You" featuring Sean Paul, Eve's album was pushed back indefinitely. Well according to producer/mentor Swizz Beats, Eve is reworking the album. Swizz Beats will also have a more hands-on approach with the newly reworked album (which could be a good or bad thing depending on who you ask).

News Tidbits: Producers/friends Timbaland and Scott Storch has ended their feud. Thank goodness! It was really pathetic seeing two non-rapping producers salvage each other on records and in the press. I am glad they have moved on.

Producer/singer Ryan Leslie known for producing the hit Cassie single, "Me & U" is releasing an album on his own titled, "The Maniacal Musical Mind of Ryan Leslie" in stores June 10. The first single "Diamond Girl" has prompted 50 Cent to jump on an unofficial remix (which has given the song more attention).

Rapper Juelz Santana has named his latest album, "Born To Win, Built To Lose (Reagan Era)" in reference to being an 80s baby (when president Reagan was in office).
