The Daily Roundup: Ashanti Push Back

There is bad news for singer Ashanti. Her long awaited oft-delayed album, 'The Declaration" has suffered yet another push back. The album was slated to be released on March 25. Now the album has a street date of June 3. First single, "The Way I Love You" has already become an internet favorite but hasn't officially been serviced to radio. There are plans for Ashanti to unveil the single this week in Las Vegas and shoot a video shortly. I don't know how legit these plans are now with the pushback. If these pushbacks continue they simply spell trouble for the singer. I do hope the album sees the light of day. There are always so many reasons for when an album gets pushed back. Let's just hope these pushbacks don't end up in the album being shelved (not released) then again some people wouldn't mind if it never came out anyway. Ha!

The 50th Annual Grammy Awards are slowly coming together as Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, and Aretha Franklin joins already announced Beyonce as performers for the 3-hour long boring telecast. As much as I get excited each year for the Grammy nominations the show is always a bore to watch. The show is more of a performance showcase than anything else. There are so many categories that only a handful are actually given out during the telecast. The majority of those awards handed out shun the urban categories when the majority of artists usually nominated are urban artists. I think it is time they get their just due and respect.

R&B singer Keyshia Cole claims that she will have a new album out by years end! I highly doubt that. I hate when artists say they are putting an album out the following year and never do. Why is she rushing to put out a 3rd album so fast for anyway? Her current album, "Just Like You" has recently been certified platinum for selling over a million copies. You ever hear the saying "don't rush a good thing". I think Keyshia needs to abide by that. At least give it two years to put your next album out.

...i'm tired of all these dang push-backs. The game is hurting...a solution is long, and overdue. I'm still waiting on Eve's "Here I Am" that got 2 videos deep, with no album released!

Yes you are right! I almost forgot about Eve's album. I haven't heard a thing about it. She must really went back and redid her album. I think she should of just released it once "Tambourine" reached its peak. The labels seem like they are not confident with releasing most albums if the single is not a hit. I guess they are tired of losing all this money.
