What R&B singer dissed Rihanna & Ciara?

You remember the group Playa? They were responsible for the single "Cheers 2 U". If you don't remember, just google it. Anyway one-third of the trio, Static will be releasing an album through Blackground Records called "Suppertime". The album is set to be released the 2nd quarter of 2008 (April - June) and you can expect production from Timbaland, Dre & Vidal (producers, Usher "Caught Up"), and The Underdogs (producers, Marques Houston, "Naked"). If I'm not mistaken Static is responsible for many of the gems on Aaliyah's 2001 self-titled album.

During a recent interview singer Jaheim was asked about the impending longevity of artists such as Rihanna and Ciara. This is what he had to say: "I don’t think they have more success than me. Some of those people you might not see next year. You never know who is on their knees doing what they have to do to get to the next step. You see, I’m not good at ass kissing." Wow! What do you think about that?

Pretty Ricky wants their next bandmate and lead singer to be a woman magnet, one that can bring the sexual freakiness like Pleasure once did. Pleasure, while still signed to Atlantic and BlueStar Entertainment will release a solo album in the future. I know the ladies (and fellas) are looking forward to this. I know so many girl friends of mine who adore Pretty Ricky specificially Pleasure.

I have watched Snoop Dogg's "Fatherhood" on the E! network and it is not a bad show. It reminds me a little of "Run's House" but more hood. Snoop has a really great family and it is always nice to see how celebrities live. What I like about Snoop is that he is so laid-back and cool; a far cry from who he was when he debuted in the early 90s.

If your eagerly awaiting Mariah Carey's new album, you will have to wait awhile longer. Earlier I reported some news regarding Mariah's new album and single but turns out the info is false. It was believed that Mariah would be debuting a new single next month (which she still may) but so far no!

Looking for a Nintendo Wii this holiday season? Well you won't be in luck as the popular game system is completely sold out in the US and it won't be available until the end of January '08. If your still trying to conjure up one you might be able to find something on Ebay.

Keith Sweat is releasing his first studio album in five years titled, "Just Me". The album will be released on March 18, 2008 and it is preceded by first single, "Suga Suga Suga". Keyshia Cole and Athena Cage guest star on the album.

News Tidbits: I'm reading that Mary J. Blige's alter ego Brook-lyn who made her debut appearance on "Enough Crying" will release her own album at the end of 2008. Say it ain't so!

Jay Z seriously does big things! He recently spent $66 million dollars to open a 150,000-square foot hotel in Manhattan.

Jordin Sparks next single is "No Air" featuing Chris Brown.

In stores this week:

  • Chingy - Hate It Or Love It
  • Lupe Fiasco - The Cool
  • Mary J. Blige - Growing Pains
  • Jaheim - The Makings Of A Man

Did you read that the record label is suing Pleasure for leaving? I thought the label they were on was owned by their father.

No I didn't hear that. I guess they don't want to let him go without a fight! To a lot of people he did make the group for the most part.
