Story: Intended for both Beyonces "B'Day" and Mario's "Go", both versions were left on the cutting room floor but eventually leaked out on re-releases.

Artist: Beyonce
Intended for: (depends on who you ask but I would say) Jazmine Sullivan
Story: Placed on the tail end of "B'Day", Beyonce's "Resentment" turned out to be a song that we would end up hearing again, not twice but thrice (Victoria Beckham's version).
Song: "Baby..One More Time"
Artist: Britney Spears
Intended for: TLC
Story: TLC turned down Britney's monster debut single. Could you imagine Chili or T-Boz singing the adolescent-like lyrics?
Song: "I Should've Cheated"
Artist: Keyshia Cole
Intended for: Nivea
Song: "Bed"
Artist: J Holiday
Intended for: Chris Brown
Story: Producer Dream stated that "Bed" was originally for Chris Brown but Dream later opted to give the song to a lesser known singer such as Holiday who took the song to #5 Pop/1 R&B.
Song: "Milkshake"
Artist: Kelis
Intended for: Britney Spears
Story: Producer Pharrell Williams revealed that "Milkshake" was for Brit before passing it along to Kelis' which became her biggest hit (#3 Pop/#4 R&B) here in the states.
Song: "Ryde or Die" aka "If I"
Artist: Jennifer Lopez
Intended for: Brandy ("If I")
Story: Appearing on Jennifer Lopez' "Rebirth" album, "Ryde Or Die" was a Timbaland production recorded by Brandy with the same lyrics but contained a slight title change to the aforementioned, "Ryde Or Die".
Song: "Got Me Waiting"
Artist: Fantasia
Intended for: Ciara
Story: Originally due to appear on Ciara's "Goodies" album, the label wanted no more slow cuts. The song eventually landed in the hands of Fantasia's producers where it appeared on her debut, "Free Yourself". Ciara appeared as a co-writer on the song.
Song: "That Girl"
Artist: Marques Houston
Intended for: NeYo
Story: Before becoming the hit songwriter he is today, NeYo wrote and recorded "That Girl" for his Columbia debut (that would never see the light of day). The song was eventually saved and given to Marques Houston. NeYo would later reveal this fact in several interviews and press junkets.
Song: "I Love You"
Artist: Faith Evans
Intended for: Jennifer Lopez
Story: When Lopez split on "I Love You", boyfriend (at the time) Diddy passed the song along to Evans who made the song a hit! Faith revealed this secret on an episode of 106 and Park. Lopez shares a co-writing credit on the track.
Song: "Another Sad Love Song"
Artist: Toni Braxton
Intended for: Anita Baker
Story: Before becoming the R&B/Pop powerhouse she is today, Toni Braxton demoed "Another Sad Love Song" for Anita Baker. When Anita heard Toni's version, she insiste d that Toni keep the version because the song was truly hers and the rest is R&B history.
Song: "Umbrella"
Artist: Rihanna
Intended for: Mary J. Blige
Story: Producer Dream approached the "Umbrella" track to Mary J. Blige who kindly turned it down. Rihanna, however did not and turned the song into an international monster hit!
