News & Thoughts On Tyler Perry, JLO, More

The Final Straw
I was watching "The Tyler Perry Show" (did you know he had a show) on BET last night. I remember reading about the show airing on BET and TVOne but I wasn't sure when. Well anyway I caught the show and it was dedicated to the "Why Did I Get Married?" movie. They have really been promoting this movie. Hopefully all this promo and positive word of mouth will help the movie perform well at the box office. I don't care much to see the movie myself. The only reason why I would see it would be just to see Janet. I prefer Tyler's "Madea" roles. The "Madea" movies are actually more popular anyway. Tyler's last movie, "Daddy's Little Girl" performed well but not like the Madea themed movies. Good luck with the new movie Tyler.

JLO's Glitter
According to Hitsdailydouble (who keeps track of the record sales) has predicted that JLO's new album, "Brave" will sell about 60K units give or take. This is exactly what I was saying awhile back. I think JLO is pretty much done as a singer. We all know she was barely a singer anyway so her success (as a singer) was going to be limited.

Album Updates:

Mary J. Blige's "Growing Pains" suffers another pushback, this time to Dec 11th. Ashanti and Mariah Carey (who is rumored to be) releasing albums on the same day. I'm really starting to think a lot of these albums aren't ready for public consumption. There are too many pushbacks for my taste. I also know that labels and artists are trying to find the best release date to avoid competition and get strong first week sales.
