Mariah Held Up, Lil' Kim Joins G-Unit

Hold Up
As expected, Mariah Carey has postponed her new album until February. It was becoming very obviously that her new album was not ready. Here it is October, and no new single has been heard from Mariah. For those who are unfamiliar with how things work in the music industry, a debut single arrives two months before an albums release.

Hard To Kill
Kanye West may have won the initial Super Tuesday match between hisself and 50 but 50 is one to be outdone. 50 and G-Unit will issue their new album, "Shoot To Kill" on Dec 18th. The first single "Wanna Lick" is rumored to feature Lil' Kim. Now what's wrong with this picture? First of all, when did 50 and Kim patch up their beef? One can only wonder but not long ago Kim was seen grinding on Young Buck at a concert earlier this year. G-Unnnnit!

Pain Is Love
The list of guests for Mary J. Blige's "Growing Pains" album continues to grow as NeYo told MTV that he recorded a duet with the singer called, "Say It While You Can". For some reason this album is giving me "No More Drama 2007".

Making Amends
Irv Gotti is trying to do some damage control for himself, Ashanti, and Murder Inc. Irv is denying that he slept with Ashanti as insinuated by Wendy Williams. He never actually stated that he did anyway but he didn't deny it either. You figure it out! It's no secret that singers sleep with their producers anyway. Aww Baby!

News Tidbits:

  • Soulja Boy's "Crank That" spends a sixth non-consecutive week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100
  • Alicia Keys' "No One" is #1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts
  • Britney Spears' visitation rights (to see her children) is suspended

Mariah - was obvious but still disappointing - bitch!

Mary & Ne-Yo duet - I hope she leaves this off the album, his songs are so damn soppy and when he duets (Rihanna, Jennifer Hudson) its even worse! Can't wait for Mary's album if the Ne-Yo tracks are kept to a minimum and The Clutch tracks are on there instead!

Irv - hmm I'ma listen to that interview again I swear he actually stated it to Wendy...

I agree that when Ne-Yo duets, they usually aren't that great. I'm really not feeling Ne-Yo at all anymore.

Me neither. I have to admit I was taken by the "oh he's such a talented singer-songwriter" thing that Def Jam put out but after listening to both his writing and his own work, there's actually nothing special about him at all. At times he's even more of a cliched male R&B singer as Usher!
