Certified Goof Troop
Oh my gosh! When I see this video on BET's "We Got To Do Better" I laughed so hard. I wondered who the hell this person was. I knew if I accessed YouTube I could find it and what do you know it was there. Daryl Nathan out of Grand Rapids, Michigan from Cable Access performs a song called, "International Lover". I'm assuming its made up or a cover of the Prince tune. Enjoy!

The Great Daryl Nathan #2

A New Beginning
T-Boz is working on a solo cd to be released very soon. I read that she recorded 17 songs in 3 weeks! Impressive right? I hope this cd is not rushed. T-Boz is my favorite from TLC. I always loved her voice and how laid back she was. I remember conducting a poll awhile back asking readers, "Who would have the more successful solo career" and the majority voted for Chili. Fair enough. I guess only time will tell who will rule between these former band mates.

A Bad Rap
There's been all this talk about 50 vs Kanye and who will be #1 right? Like I said before(and I will damn sure say it again) that being #1 doesn't matter at the end of the day in terms of Billboard charts. What matters is which album is going to have the longer shelf life. Many albums(rap in particular) debut at #1 only to plummet down the charts in later weeks. For instance Common debuted at #1 last week and this week he is #7. I must also note that albums experience a huge drop in the second week as well. UGK and Plies lands at #1 and #2 respectively but they might not even be in the top 10 next week making T.I. the only rapper in the top 10 album charts again. A lot of these albums don't hold up because they don't be all that good in the first place. Now when someone like Usher comes out and debuts at #1 he is more than likely going to be on the charts for a good while. The climate has changed though. He really has to bring it himself because he has tarnished his reputation a little with that sham marriage.

Tango Wango
I was listening to the Wendy Williams Experience yesterday. She was recording for the upcoming season of her show on VH1. One of the guests was porn star Heather Hunter. Wendy mentioned how the last time she saw Hunter, they were in club together with Tango(I Love New York). Wendy asked if the two dated and Heather replied "We dated." Hunter also went on to confirm what New York said at the "I Love New York" reunion about Tango's manhood. It's a "small" world indeed! No pun intended!

R&Beefy

I noticed that a lot of the male R&B singers are very cocky. I don't know if its a guy thing or what. It actually irritates me and makes me not like some of them. I really don't care much for many male artists these days either. I do admit I have been pleased with the music they have been putting out. I was reading how J. Holiday(Bed) was on the radio and acting very cocky. I was really surprised then again I wasn't. I feel like he doesn't have the right to be cocky yet. You have not blown up yet. You got one hit single. You can be here today and gone tomorrow.

OMG lmao at that Daryl Nathan video, he sound/look like Rick James!

Totally agree about the chart positions Lamar, its about longetivity. Would you rather reach No. 1 and drop straight off the chart through lack of second week sales or land at No. 8 and stay on the chart for weeks through constant sales every week thereafter? Plus we all know No. 1 does not equal a good album, just a good marketing team.

Also totally agree about cocky male artists. There really isn't a lot of mainstream male R&B talent out there right now and none of them have the right to be so confident. I guess its becoming like rap where you have to have this confident front to be real 'macho'. Its pathetic really...
