Salt-N-Pepa, Solange, Oprah, Whoopi, Foxy

Old Is The New New
VH1 is slowly unveiling their fall lineup with a slew of reality shows. Salt-N-Pepa are returning to not only music but TV. Their upcoming show, "Salt-N-Pepa Show" will follow the duo as they plan to regroup. We find out what really went down between the women concerning their breakup. Expect some major drama. I always thought their breakup was mutual but we will soon learn the truth. The show premieres Oct. 18th (that's a Thursday) on VH1.

Wait A Minute Ain't That ...
Solange (Knowles) has recently signed a publishing deal with EMI (Capitol Records, Virgin Records, etc.), and she is finishing her upcoming album, "Solange & The Hadley Street Dreams". I can only imagine how this album is going to sound. I'm thinking it will be a mix between early Kelis ("Caught Out There") and will steer clear of any Beyonce comparisons. The Beyonce comparisons are going to happen regardless though. Q-Tip and Bilal will guest star on the album.

News Tidbits:
  • Whoopi Goldberg joins "The View" on Sept. 4th
  • Foxy Brown denied early exit; remains in jail until Sept 7th
  • Oprah's 21st season airs Aug 29th with a look back at Hurricane Katrina: Two Years Later

I'm really anticipating Solange's project, I think she's a talented girl and really gets into writing. Unlike Beyonce who just steals credit from other people ("Resentment" is almost completely cover version and she got writing credit - go figure.) I loved the tracks she wrote on Kelly Rowland's debut.

Hearing Bilal & Q-Tip are on there makes it sound like this is going to have a more neo-soul vibe, which means now I'm even more excited, thanks for the info Lamar!
