R&Beyonce

Beyonce. We love to love her. And we love to hate her. Beyonce is here to stay. No matter how much we want her to disappear. I wish she would simply take a break. Make us miss you for awhile. She simply wants to keep the ball rolling. She is destined for a Mariah-like breakdown at her rate. It's not easy being Beyonce. She has set the standard of what is expected from any upcoming (and current) R&B/Pop diva. Her look and style is heavily imitated. Beyonce is the "it" girl of R&B/Pop. Times definitely change. Female artists used to be compared to Mary J. Blige. Now it's Beyonce. Witness Beyonce in all her Dreamgirl diva glory. R&Beyonce details beef that has plagued Beyonce's career. There is no true evidence of these beefs. But this is the truth as I know it to be.
  • Beyonce vs. Amerie - Amerie, like many others have been compared to Beyonce. Amerie released a mixtape in late 2006. The mixtape featured a song supposedly aimed at Beyonce. Amerie sings about a certain someone stealing her style. Beyonce perhaps? Amerie has denied any beef with Beyonce.
  • Beyonce vs. Ashanti - There is no true evidence of any beef between these two women. Ashanti became a Beyonce-like clone in 2003. Both women released their albums a week apart in 2003. The competitive move (a strategy created by their respective labels) set the stage for numerous comparisons.
  • Beyonce vs. Blu Cantrell - Blu alleges Beyonce stole a song idea from her in 2003. Sean Paul perhaps? The reggae dancehall artist was featured on both women's songs. Blu later issued the song "Girl Please" aimed at Beyonce. The song accused Jay-Z of having a wandering eye....for all things "Blu." Ironically Blu and Jay-Z were once linked shortly before dating Beyonce.
  • Beyonce vs. Destiny's Child - Former bandmates LeToya and Latavia wanted new management. They felt they were being mishandled and misrepresented. Speculation and finger-pointing has followed in recent years.
  • Beyonce vs. Jay-Z - Hip-Pop's golden couple were on the outs at one time. Jay-Z denounced Beyonce as a gold digger. The tension can be heard on Jay-Z's "Lost Ones" and countless Beyonce records.
  • Beyonce vs. Jennifer Hudson - Dreamgirls is not Beyonce's breakthrough role. It was however intended to be. That's where Jennifer Hudson comes in. She emerged as the film's breakthrough star. Awards and accolades have followed her portrayal of Effie White. Did Jennifer Hudson steal the spotlight from Beyonce? That's what critics and fans have said. And I'm telling you she's not going..........nowhere!
