2006: A Look Back (So Far)
I decided to keep a log of 2006 and it's many events by month. I would include every headline (that I could remember) from each month (of 2006) and include it in my log. The log contains much of the happenings for 2006. Those happenings include deaths, births, lawsuits, rumors, etc. I wasn't going to reveal this list until December but this will be a sneak preview. Here are the first six months:
Jan. 06
Lou Rawls died.
Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe split.
Several miners killed in accident.
Lindsay Lohan supposedly admited to doing drugs and bulimia in Vanity Fair.The claims are later denied.
Pink marries Carey Hart.
Angelie Jolie announces pregnancy with Brad Pitt. Baby due in the summer.
Shelley Winters dies at 85.
Coretta Scott King dies at 78.
Wilson Pickett dies.
Singer/Songwriter/Producer Gene McFadden died
Fayard Nicholas of the famed Nicholas Brothers also died.
Have you ever noticed there's a exceptionally high rate of deaths in the month of January?

Chilli of TLC is arrested for narcotics possession, but later denies the allegations.
Sheryl Crow is treated for breast cancer.
Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shoots hunter while hunting.
Don Knotts (The Andy Griffith Show, Three's Company) dies at 81.
So much for Black History Month huh?

3 6 Mafia becomes first Hip-Hop act to win an Oscar for Best Song.
Crash wins Best Picture at the Oscars.
Diana Reeves dies of lung cancer at age 44.
Lil' Kim's reality show "Countdown to Lockdown" premieres on BET to huge ratings.
Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons announce their seperation. Allegedly the couple had been split for a few months.
Whitney Houston's sister-in-law Tina Brown sells pictures of Whitney's drug bin bathroom to The National Enquirer. She later claims her allegations were to give Whitney a wake-up call.
Naomi Campbell is arrested for assault.
March came marching in with surprise revelations and rumors that shocked us all.
Apr. 06
Suge Knight files for bankruptcy.
Lil' Cease is arrested.
Eminem divorces wife (ex-wife) again.
Proof of D12 is shot dead.
Babyface sues Anita Baker.
Janet Jackson song leaks (Put It On Me aka Speed It Up) and is rumored to be first single off new album.
Tomkat welcome baby girl Suri. Suri has yet to be seen by the public (at presstime). The media has a field day with numerous rumors involving Suri.
Micheal Jackson clears up financial debt.
Micheal Jackson announces the recording of new album on new label, Two Seas. Eyes collaboration with 50 Cent and Rodney Jerkins (as of Aug. '06)
Whitney Houston reportedly goes back to rehab for a 3rd time.
Boris Kudjoe & Nicole Ari Parker announce their expecting 2nd child.
Snoop Dogg is arrested in London airport.
Whew........a lot of ish happened in April right?
May '06
Janet Jackson surprises fans with teaser single Weekend via her website. The song is later pulled after less than favorable reviews. Janet Jackson announces first single "Call On Me" which goes to radio June 19th via her website.
Janet Jacksons celebrates her 40th birthday along with JD and Paris Hilton.
NBA rivals, Shaq and Kobe Bryant's wives give birth to baby girls on the same day (May 1st).
T.I. is arrested for violating probation.
Club where Proof of D12 was shot closes its doors.
Oprah Winfrey's Legend's Ball premieres on ABC.
Kelly Rowland denies being Matthew Knowle's child.
Kelly Rowland's album is pushed back indefinitely.
DMX is arrested due to suspected air rage.
Issac Hayes becomes father for the fourth time.
Britney Spears announces she's pregnant for a 2nd time on the David Letterman show.
May was full of rumors that has us talking all throughout the month and beyond.
June '06
Janet Jackson's "Call On Me" featuring Nelly is shipped to radio.
Beyonce's "Deja Vu" featuring Jay Z leaks.
Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige, T.I. are among the winners at BET's 6th Annual Awards.
Britney Spears conducts a disatrous interview with Matt Lauer.
Jay-Z celebrates 10th anniversay of Reasonable Doubt album by throwing a special concert.
Foxy Brown makes her first public appearances after regaining her hearing.
Christina Milian is dropped from Def Jam records. Milian rebounds later with new movie and new album deal. Rumors later suggest Milian is broke. She later denies the claims (Aug.'06)
June got off to a rather slow start but July definitely heated things up.
Well there you have it, the first six months of 2006. Interesting huh?!?
