Throwback Video: LL Cool J Featuring Jennifer Lopez - Control Myself
LL Cool J guest appeared on Jennifer Lopez's #1 hit; "All I Have"(which is a personal favorite of mine) and J-Lo returned the favorite a few years later with this song and video.
A few years back J-Lo even came to the Soul Train Awards and honored LL Cool J. Wasn't that sweet? I remember back in the day artists would return the favor on songs but nowadays its not like that. It solely depends on the artists and their loyalty and friendships with other artists.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon celebrated their fourth anniversary with another milestone — becoming parents to a baby girl and boy.----------------
Carey's representative, Cindi Berger, confirmed the births to The Associated Press. The singing superstar gave birth Saturday at 12:07 p.m. EDT at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles. Berger says the baby girl was born first, weighing 5 pounds, 3 ounces, and was 18 inches long; her brother was next, at 5 pounds 6 ounces, and was 19 inches.
Berger says the couple has not named the children yet. Cannon drove Carey to the hospital in their Rolls-Royce Phantom. Berger said the 41-year-old Carey, who had gone through false labor, was calm, thinking that it was another false alarm.
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old Cannon was so nervous he went to the wrong department at the hospital, and was guided to the maternity ward by a nurse.
"It was like right out of an 'I Love Lucy' skit," said Berger.
Berger says they were listening to Carey's "We Belong Together" after the children were born.
The couple are expected to renew their wedding vows on Sunday. The pair got married in 2007 after a whirlwind romance. They were the subject of endless baby rumors, and the couple actually were expecting shortly after their marriage, but Carey had a miscarriage; they did not reveal the miscarriage until she announced her pregnancy last fall.
The couple plan to live a bi-coastal life, and have luxurious nurseries in both New York and Los Angeles.
As far as more children, Carey recently declared she's done.

Diddy-Dirty Money Cancels Tour
It's always a huge deal with any tour is cancelled but then the media always reports how ticket sales are down for nearly every tour. Find out why Diddy-Dirty Money had to cancel their tour!

Diddy is finally explaining why he canceled five upcoming concerts -- claiming it had nothing do with low ticket sales -- it was a "logistics" issue ... whatever that means.
Amidst reports that ticket sales were in the dumps, a rep for Dirty Money tells TMZ, "A few dates for the 'Coming Home' tour in Florida and Missouri were canceled due to production and technical logistics which made it impossible for Diddy Dirty Money to perform the best show for their fans."
The rep adds, "The remaining shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Phoenix are scheduled as planned and will mark the ending to a widely acclaimed tour."
The rep wouldn't say anything more specific about the "logistics" issues ... which could be about a million different things ... from the stage ... to the lights ... to the temperature of the champagne fridge in Diddy's dressing room.

Reality TV Roundup
Some of our favorite music artists are dominating the small screen by way of these reality shows. Check out the list:
Jim Jones
Through VH1's "Love & Hip Hop", we get a sneak peek into the tumultuous life of Jim Jones; his outspoken mother; and his fearless fiance; Chrissy. Though I think Jimmy may be a little shy to the cameras; we won't be seeing the real Jim Jones that his Chrissy knows anytime soon but that's okay. We understand.
Olivia
I think this is the third chance for Olivia and I feel I must be careful what I say about her and Jim Jones. They have people who will come after you! You will know what I'm talking about if you have watched "Love & Hip Hop". Anyway Olivia is trying to show everyone that she can sing and I don't really think that's was an issue. I think Olivia should just stick to what she knows which is "Hip Hop". She should come out with some music over some hard Hip Hop beats and her soft crooning. We really don't have that right now and its a void.
Toni Braxton
Toni Braxton stars in "Braxton Family Values" and I'm upset I don't get to see it because I don't have the WE channel. I guess I better try and look it up on Google or YouTube. I hear the show is really good though.
Lil' Jon
Lil' Jon is one of the last few contestants remaining on NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice" and right now things about to heat up even though that particular storyline doesn't involve him. It involves NeNe Leakes and Star Jones. I can't wait to watch Sunday night!
Cee-Lo Green
Cee-Lo is one of the judges on one of reality TV's hottest new music themed shows; "The Voice" which aired this past week on NBC to big numbers. I missed the premiere since I was working. My friend watched and told me that host Carson Daly looks sick.

KeKe Wyatt Featuring Ruben Studdard - Saturday Love - Music Video
Ruben Studdard joins KeKe Wyatt on the debut single; "Saturday Love"; a remake originally performed by Alexander O'Neal and Cherrelle. It is the first single to KeKe Wyatt's upcoming album; "Unbelievable". The album will be in stores and online June 14.
If you recall KeKe Wyatt released an album; "Who Knew" last year I believe. KeKe Wyatt is alright in my book but she is a little kooky. You all remember the story when she stabbed her husband? It's just something about her that is off. The video does her no justice as she seems awkward and Ruben doesn't even sound like himself to me.

Monica Working With Missy Elliott On New Album
Since Monica began working with Missy Elliott back in 2003; its pretty much become a standard for Missy to produce on each Monica album that has followed since. Monica's upcoming album; "New Life" is no exception as the pair recently collaborated alongside Jazmine Sullivan who is likely on writing and background duties. Other names associated with the new Monica album are Chris Brown, Diane Warren, and Polow Da Don. Looks like the album is shaping up to be quite interesting and listenable.
Soulja Boy is branching out of the realm of Rap and entering the world of movies starring in a remake of the classic movie; "Juice" which starred 2Pac. I don't know what's with all these remakes and sequels as of late. Like someone said; is anyone original anymore?
Also in the works for those concerned is a sequel to "Waiting To Exhale" but Whitney hasn't signed on yet. I think that would be interesting though but not everyone movie needs a remake or a sequel.
Prodigy of Mobb Deep is recently fresh out of jail and dropping mixtapes; EPs; and some pretty interesting confessions. Turns out the rapper was once involved with singer Keyshia Cole and actress Lindsay Lohan.
The rapper wanted to submit some beats to Cole when he was reminded of his sexual encounters with her which would now seem awkward given her new relationship. Lindsay Lohan; on the other hand is a little different. I don't think she is currently seeing anyone and I think she still does music. Maybe he can do a beat for her! Ha!

Remakes & Sequels
I was just reading about the remake of the 1991 movie; "Juice" being remade with Soulja Boy; you can read more about that below. But "Juice" isn't the only film being remade or revived. Quite a few movies not even listed here are in the works and coming soon to a theater near you. I don't talk about movies here but these movies of course all star or will star music artists. Some of them should just be left alone in my opinion and probably yours as well. You can't tell those Hollywood execs anything though.
Check out some of the movies that are being remade, revived, and getting sequels below!
Sparkle
The 1970's classic movie starring sisters who make it big in music has been screaming for a remake as early as the early 2000s. Basically every young black actress has seen their name attached. Over the years Ashanti, Beyonce, and Gabrielle Union have been the names we've heard.
I mean the idea of a remake sounds nice and all but I think they should leave it alone. The movie; released in 1976 is widely considered a classic. It's not my favorite movie but a lot of people do like it. Every once in awhile the movie airs on cable network; TvOne.
Waiting To Exhale
Since author Terry McMillian has penned to the sequel to "Waiting" in the book "Getting To Happy" which jumps years after the first book; plans for a Hollywood adaption have been in the works. I heard so far that Angela Bassett and Loretta Devine have signed on.
I just feel a sequel is not complete without Whitney and if she's not apart of it; they might as well forget it. I don't think Whitney is doing much these days but relaxing so this could be just what she need to get back out there again and follow it up with the new album she is supposedly working on.
Juice
Another classic black movie starring 2Pac is being remade this month starring Soulja Boy and Cam'ron and people aren't too happy but what can do you do.
Fast & Furious
Believe it or not but I've never seen any of the movie from "The Fast & The Furious" franchise. Over the years though artists like Tyrese, Bow Wow, and Ludacris have starred in various sequels. The newest installment will race into theaters next month.

Jazmine Sullivan Releases New Single
Though "Excuse Me" has been getting radio play for awhile; the song is officially going for adds on April 25. The song is the third single to be released from the album; "Love Me Back". The sales to the album have been somewhat underwhelming compared to her debut album; "Fearless" and Jazmine has been missing in action. If you recall earlier there was a statement released by Jazmine which detailed her decision to give the music business a break.
JoJo is returning to the music scene with new album; "Jumping Trains". The album's first single will be "The Other Woman". The video was just shot this past week and should be premiering in the near future. No word on when the album will be released.

The X-Factor
"American Idol" eat your heart out! The new FOX show; "The X-Factor" is coming soon. The show features Simon Cowell formerly of "American Idol" fame. While the show is still undergoing its potential contestants and judges; the mystery as to who the judges are continues to boggle us all.
Since the inception of the show here in the states; literally every famous name has been attached to the show. Its similar to the bid for who was to take Paula Abdul's place as well as Simon's and Kara's and Ellen's for "American Idol".
Here is the list of celebrity judges who are attached or have been rumored to the new "The X-Factor" show. Check it out!
L.A. Reid
The former head honcho of Island Def Jam has been the first confirmed name attached to the show. It is a sure bet to have someone as experienced as Reid since he's been in the business for over 20 years. He's spearheaded the careers of everyone from Pink to Mariah Carey; that's saying a lot.
Nicki Minaj
While she is sure to attract a younger demographic; I don't think Nicki would make the best judge unless their going for an "America's Best Dance Crew" themed reality TV show. Then again I don't really know much about "The X-Factor" and its similarities to "American Idol" which is a singing competition.
Mariah Carey
She has been named as a "mentor" judge who would make frequent appearances but not weekly appearances; that's the rumor. I mean it sounds nice and all but I think Mariah would be focusing on her children. Then again I read that she is or was working on new music; so when she does give birth; she might be ready to work again right away anyway.
Paula Abdul
I would love for Paula Abdul to be a judge again alongside Simon since they have that undeniable chemistry and Paula joining "Factor" has been a big rumor all the while.
I'm forgetting who else has been mentioned but I know there were a few other celebs. I'm not sure when the "Factor" will air but be on the look out for it very soon.

Kelly Rowland To Feature R&B Sound On New Album
Kelly Rowland will tap back into her R&B roots for her upcoming album due later this year. The singer's new single; "Motivation" is climbing the charts and is a favorite of mine right now. Producer Rico Love(worked with Pleasure P) is producing a bulk of the album and is responsible for the R&B sound that will be present.
Personally I like R&B Kelly and I prefer that over anything else. I just think she needs the right push and promotion and she will be fine.
Lil' Wayne's "The Carter IV" will now be released on June 21 and not June 3. This is the album's third pushback. Let's see how long this sticks.
As we all know pushing back albums for R&B/Hip Hop releases is standard.
The artists formerly associated with Murder Inc or The Inc; Ashanti, Ja Rule, and Lloyd came together during Diddy-Dirty Money's "Coming Home" Tour(or whatever the name is) and performed a medley of their hits including; "Always On Time" and "Southside".
I think its good that the artists are still in good standing with one another. The same can't be said for former boss; Irv Gotti who has virtually disappeared. Then again he did produce Keyshia Cole's newest single; "Take Me Away".

Nicki Minaj Planning To Release New Album
Hot off the heels of the platinum certified; "Pink Friday"; Nicki is ready to release music by the end of this year. Nothing wrong with keeping the momentum going. Recently she joined Britney Spears on the remix of her single; "Til The End Of The World". Read below for more info on the new album!
Nicki Minaj has kept her guest features to a minimum since the release of her platinum debut Pink Friday, but she’s got a timeline in place for its follow-up. The Harajuku Barbie explained that her Barbz will get an announcement regarding the sophomore effort by September, with the album set to drop within the next 12 months.
“You’ll get another album within 12 months,” she told KIIS FM’s JoJo. “You’ll get the announcement for the next album in—and I’m saying the announcement—that you’ll get the announcement in September. That’s all.”
But for now she’ll stay busy promoting her new single “Super Bass” and its video, set to arrive in the next week. Videos for “Did It On’em” and “Fly,” her collaboration with Rihanna, have also been shot.
After her “I Am Still Music” tour with Lil Wayne winds down this month, fans can catch her opening for Britney Spears on the “Femme Fatale” tour, kicking off on June 17.
Chingy Returns With New Album
Chingy is back like he never left and you can read below about his new album and the new risks he will be taking. Check it out!
Chingy is done playing it safe. The St. Louis rapper is prepping the release of his fifth album No Risk, No Reward 13, touting the project as the “rebirth of Chingy” after he fell back from the music scene over the past few years.I remember Chingy releasing an album a few years back and it basically disappeared off the face of the earth. Then there were the rumors about his sexuality and that transsexual. Remember that?
He explained that he’s putting all his cards on the table this time around. “The album is called No Risk, No Reward 13 because if you don’t take those risks, you won’t get where you need to get in life,” he told Rap-Up.com. “And the ’13’ represents rebirth. So for me, this is the rebirth of my presence as an artist, not that I’ve been dead but I’ve been musically out for the last three to four years so it’s the rebirth of Chingy.”
The album, releasing via his own record label Full Dekk/Busic Group, features collaborations with Jermaine Dupri on several club bangers as well as the romantically-minded “Can’t Leave.” With additional production from Cee-F.A.B., Jae Class, and Wysh Master, the LP will be preceded by the urban single “Paper Man” and pop-aimed “Super Hero.”
“A lot of the people I work with bring a new sound to my music. Not that I’m going to sound super different, but like on ‘Super Hero,’ that single’s more pop but it’s a universal song,” he continued.
Chingy has already shot the video for “Paper Man,” with plans to hit Vegas to lens “Super Hero” in the coming weeks. “The video is about this girl that I’m into and there’s a guy pursuing her and being a little too aggressive,” he said. “I come in there and rescue her, kind of like a superhero.”
No Risk, No Reward 13 is due in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Kelly Price Blogs About New Album
I'm loving Kelly Prices' "Not My Daddy" song right now so I'm a little excited about her album. Her first single; "Tired" which is included on the new album was nominated for a Grammy last year. Read Kelly's blog about her new album and videos!
We're getting closer to the May 3rd release date for "Kelly," and I'm a ball of emotions right now. I'm nervous, excited, anxious and so many other things, but mostly excited. Its been a few years since my last R&B project and so much has changed about the way music is made and marketed to the public, but I've stuck to what has always worked for me as an artist -- and you have responded with nothing but love for ya girl!
Thank you!!! The second single, "Not My Daddy" f/Stokley and Mint Condition, is really doing its thing on radio right now. We just finished editing the video and you will see it on the air really soon. I have to give a big shout out to my homies Stoke and Wadell (co-producer and Mint Conditioner member) for taking my song and producing it to perfection! It sounds just the way I heard it in my head when I wrote it! By the way, be sure to pick up their new CD "7" -- in stores now!
Then, of course, there's the incredible Regina King who directed the video for "Not My Daddy." For those of you who don't know, she is so much more than an actress. As much as I love what she does in front of the camera, I think I may love her even more behind the camera and in the director's chair. I first took notice of her skills on the Jaheim video for "Finding My Way Back," which she also directed. I knew I wanted to work with her at that moment, and when I called her to talk about directing the video, she said yes without hesitation! Im so glad she did.
I totally trusted what Regina envisioned for the song, so when we sat down to discuss the treatment I told her, "Whatever you see when you listen to the song is what we will do," and she took it from there. Regina decided to cast my daughter as a young Kelly along with another talented teen named Cameron, who played young Stokley. (He's a cutie... I told him he might need security after this video comes out). The storyline plays out in color vignettes from the past with most of the present day shots of me and Stokley in black and white. Regina's idea was to use the contrast to show the more lively and vivacious times of the relationship in color, and the black and white was to help indicate that over time the relationship faded. Pure genius!
I could go on and on about my experience with this song and working with Regina and Stokley, but I want to leave some room to post photos from the video shoot.

It's been awhile since I heard new music from Lil' Mo. When I do hear about Lil' Mo nowadays its usually regarding some beef on twitter with fans or whoever. Read below for more info on her upcoming album and single.

Game Detained In Canda For 14 Days
There's always something going on with The Game if you ask me. Read below:
Game’s 4/20 went up in smoke, but for the wrong reason. The “Red Nation” rapper was detained by Canadian officials after attempting to enter the country.http://www.rap-up.com/2011/04/20/game-detained-in-canada-for-14-days/
Fresh from Australia, Game was traveling to Canada to perform at several shows on Wednesday, April 20. After waiting in customs for three hours, he was denied entry. “Customs officials just denied me entry into Canada. I’m sorry 2 ALL my fans but I was mislead by promoters & assured I would be able 2 enter,” he tweeted.
But things soon went from bad to worse. “This just in: I’m being detained in Canada for 14 days until they process my inadmissability then I’ll have a hearing heard by a judge,” he added. “At that point the judge will decide to either deport me or give me a sentence for violating Canada’s immigrant entry laws.”
Game expressed his unhappiness with the unexpected circumstances. “F%cked up situation !!! But at least they let me call home, & tweet before they lock a n!gga up !!! Gotta turn in my property, y’all be kool,” he wrote. “Gotta give up my phone & property. This some straight bullshit ! Flew all the way from LA to be denied and detained ?!?! WTF.”

Rihanna To Duet With Beyonce, 50 Cent
Rihanna is definitely in demand now more than ever before. The singer is reportedly set to duet with not only Beyonce but 50 Cent as well on their new albums. Beyonce's new album is reportedly titled; "B Revolution" but there has not been an official word as yet. As a matter of fact a teaser of the video for "Run The World(Girls)" leaked out today on Beyonce's official website.
As for the 50 Cent project; it was hinted at on twitter that Rihanna and Eminem were collaborating with 50 Cent. 50 Cent commented that he will release a new single this week or the next so look out for that.
In other 50 Cent news the rapper will appear on Nicole S. first single here in the states for her album; "Killer Love" which has been released overseas already. The single "Right There" will be released very soon so look out for that.
Nicole S. had a solo album that was set to come out but it never materialized here in the states but it got released overseas(I believe).

50 Cent Victim Of Credit Card Fraud
This is pretty interesting as its not the first time this has happened to 50 Cent. Read below:
Two men allegedly tried to go on a spending spree using Fif's Amex.
As far as emcees go, 50 Cent's credit line must be somewhere near the top of the list.
So when two men allegedly tried to make unauthorized purchases using his American Express account, the pair likely though they hit the jackpot.
Not so, according to a report by the New York Daily News. Apparently, thieves tried to use 50's account information to order two Sony flat-screen televisions worth about $1,000 each.
The owner of the store in which the fraudulent purchase was made became suspicious and did not deliver the televisions. When the thieves wanted to know why they hadn't received the television, the store owner told them over the phone that they could pick them up.
Two men arrived in a rented car to pick up the televisions, and were promptly arrested, though a source reports that they were not the "masterminds behind the attempted crime."
This is at least the fifth time since 2007 that someone has tried to make an unauthorized purchase using the rapper's information.
Ryan Leslie - Glory - Music Video
Ryan Leslie switches it up for his new single; "Glory" in which he raps instead of sings. I guess the song works and the video is not bad. I don't think its anything I would listen to like that.
Ryan's upcoming album; "Les Is More" will be in stores and online July 4.

Lil' Wayne Reveals New Album Cover
Keyshia Cole To Tour With R. Kelly
If I'm not mistaken I believe this is second time or so that Keyshia Cole has toured with R. Kelly. I do know she previously recorded with him on his "Double Up" album. Interestingly enough I'm surprised he's never produced for her on her own album. I can see her really capturing that essence of one of R. Kelly's more ghetto sounding songs.
Mariah Carey is the latest celebrity that's been attached to the upcoming FOX show; "X-Factor". Previously announced celebrities to be included are L.A. Reid, Nicki Minaj, and I forget the other names. *brain freeze* To me its starting to sound more like an awards ceremony. I like Nicki Minaj but I don't think that's a good idea. L.A. Reid is okay as a judge I guess and I hear that Mariah is more like a mentor judge than a judge that will be on the panel.
I read that Beyonce's new single; "Girls(Who Run The World)" is set to hit radio on May 16; that's the official date but radio may jump on this much faster. After all it is Beyonce. Though reaction to the song has been mixed; time will tell how this song will fare at radio. Beyonce's upcoming album is set to be released this June.

Khia Release New Single + Single Cover
Khia is back with a new single, "So Addicted" and you can hear it below at the link provided. The song is available for purchase on iTunes. I believe this is a single from Khia's new album; "MotorMouf/Khia Simone". I'm not sure when the album will be in stores or if it ever will.Listening to this makes me laugh because Khia is so in your face and she doesn't care. I do like that about her but the song is just okay.

Brian McKnight Pushes Back New Album
I didn't know Brian McKnight had a new album coming out but I guess I, as well as a lot of other people know now. Read more about that below:
R&B crooner Brian McKnight, who original planned to release his tenth studio album in April, Has pushed the set back to July. The forthcoming effort, entitled 'Just Me,' will be a double disc of twenty-two songs, that include ten unreleased songs from his extensive catalog.I was just thinking how sometime back some guy came out and alleged that he had an affair with a famous singer who was believed to be Brian McKnight. He called into Wendy Williams' former radio show and went on about all this abuse and so forth. Does anyone else recall the story?
Like Raphael Saadiq’s Stone Rollin', McKnight is taking it back to the old school on the new project, channeling the influences of Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles and The Temptations.
Along with the release of the album McKnight will offer fans a DVD of 'Just Me.' In addition, McKnight kicked off the ‘Just Me’ tour early this month and the trek will run throughout the summer (dates below).
Now that the “Anytime” hitmaker is no longer producing the radio show, 'The Brian McKnight Show,' he is focusing more on music.
Chris Brown New Album Certified Gold
I don't think it comes to a surprise to no one that Chris Brown's newest album; "F.A.M.E." has been certified gold. Read more below:
Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E. has been certified gold within three weeks of its release! The album spawned three consecutive No. 1 singles and is the third highest-selling debut album of the year.I'm happy for Chris especially since the odds have been against me. Virtually the last dozen of singles he's released of been featured on has been a hit. Unlike a lot of other people I don't really care for his album then again maybe I should give it another listen.
On the heels of the gold certification, Chris Brown just released his new mid-tempo single “She Ain’t You,” which is already showing early signs of success. The track was # 1 most added at Urban Mainstream and for two weeks in a row a Top 5 greatest gainer at the format. The single will impact at the Rhythmic radio format this week.
Keyshia Cole - Take Me Away - Music Video
About time Keyshia Cole released a video for this song but I do think she is a little late. The song is falling down the charts but maybe this will help pick its pace back up.

JD and Da Brat add their spin to Chris Browns' #1 hit and Da Brat definitely hasn't lost her touch. When's the new album?
Lil' B Announces Controversial New Album Title
You can read below to find out exactly what it is!
The "Based God" may just trump Nas for the most controversial album title attempt of all time.http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/news/id.14771/title.lil-b-announces-his-new-album-will-be-titled-im-gay
Young rapper Lil B has announced that his new album will be called "I'm Gay."
The controversial announcement apparently happened at coachella, reports Pitchfork via its Twitter page.
The announcement, though perhaps shocking, should not necessarily come as a surprise. given that the California artist has a freestyle called "I'm a Faggot," and famously Tweeted, "If Kanye West Dosent [sic] Acknowledge Me Over Twitter And Work With Me On Music, When i see him im going to fuck him in the ass - Lil B."
Lil B announces his new album will be called "I'm Gay." Then raps over Air France. This really happened. #coachellaabout 16 hours ago via Yak Favorite Retweet ReplyPitchfork

Lil B addressed the subject of his sexuality in an interview with Complex. "It's a touchy subject. I respect the hell out of gays and the gay community. I'm not a gay man. I don't agree with sex with another man or fucking another man or giving blow jobs to another guy. That's not my thing. I'd rather fuck a girl, fuck her in her ass, fuck her in the mouth or something."
He continued, explaining, "People get scared when they hear the gay word, but when you truly know yourself, you gonna be good. Say for instance you're watching a porno, right. And, you're jacking off and shit, and some gay shit pops up. And you're like, 'Oh, shit!' Either you're gonna look at that shit, or you're not gonna look at it and you're not gonna give a fuck about it. Like, some gay shit can pop up on me, and I don't give a fuck about it. I'm like, 'Oh, that's that gay shit. Get that shit off. Back to the bitches.' But some muthafuckers are in denial. Some dudes are really in denial. They're like, 'What's that? Ohhhh!' And they hate themselves for that. They're like, 'What's wrong with me?' You feel me? And these are motherfuckers that's around us. That's not saying shit. So, it's like, I'm a faggot because I'm so not a faggot. I can say I'm a faggot. I can say I'm the gayest bitch on Earth. And I'm so not gay, it's obvious. I know from my deepest core that I'm very far from gay. So I can say I'm the bitch queen that fucks cows. I'm not."
It is unclear whether Lil B's wish for his album title will become reality; Nas notably tried to title his album Nigger, but was forced to change the title to Untitled.

Lil' Wayne Pushes New Album Back
Yes. I guess it was bound to happen as it happens with typically every R&B/Hip Hop release. Now Wayne will drop his long awaited "The Carter IV" in June. No specific date has been given but that is the word. Last week a rumored tracklisting surfaced giving fans an idea of what to expect.
Wayne was recently spotted at his concert(I believe) donning a jersey of a player on the WNBA who he referred to as his "wife". Not surprised there! Wayne definitely knows how to pick 'em.
Producer Ryan Leslie will release; "Glory" as the first single off his upcoming album; "Les Is More". No word on when the album will be released. The single and video will premiere on April 19. Be on the look out for that!
Ryan Leslie recently spoke about his relationship with Cassie. He did admit that the two used to date. The way it played out though to me and I'm sure others was that Diddy stole her from him. She was with his Next Selection(which Ryan states she is still signed under) before she was with Bad Boy.
Cassie's music career is another story but she has kept busy appearing in Wiz Khalifa's video for "Roll Up" and being seen out alongside Diddy's mother; Janice Combs.
Nicki Minaj will be joining Britney Spears on her new tour and for that she won't bring along her infamous sex toys. Her sex toys including a plastic dildo have been all the rage. The rapper usually brings it out while performing "Did It On 'Em".
Nicki contends that she will still perform the same songs as well as some new songs that she has coming out this summer.

Westside Connection Reunion Unlikely
If your a fan of Westside Connection; a reunion is not likely to happen. Mack 10 explains below a little but obviously there has been some type of falling out between him and Ice Cub.

Mack 10 has been in the news quite a bit as of late. Unfortunately for the west coast rapper, he has been sued for unpaid studio time, as well as having to be hospitalized for emergency stomach surgery.http://www.realraptalk.com/f3/04-16-mack-10-says-westside-connection-reunion-unlikely-talks-xzibit-2149957/
On the other hand, the ever-enterprising rapper recently released the album Money Music with Glasses Malone as Mack & Malone. But what of his past as a member of Cali super group Westside Connection, which consisted of Mack 10, Ice Cube and WC?
In a recent interview with VIBE, the rapper revealed that he has no intention of reuniting with Ice Cube - even on a personal level. “I haven’t spoken to Cube in a long time…like years,” explained Mack. “I don’t know if we will ever speak again. I haven’t given it much thought. It’s all about Hoo Bangin’ now. Outside of that, I can’t really think about it. That’s the way you have to approach this business right now. This is not 1995 anymore.”
Additionally, Mack 10 spoke about signing Xzibit to his Hoo Bangin' label. “He does his acting thing, but he can still rap his ass off,” said Mack of the veteran west coast emcee. “He’s a real emcee…that’s why I signed him. He’s been working on his record. It’s probably going to come out in August.”

Brandy Signed To J Records?
Well that is one of the many rumors floating around right now. While the public awaits a confirmation from the singer; she and her family will release "A Family Business" on June 21. You can check out the tracklisting below!
I am ready for some new music from Brandy because honestly I was getting a little tired of the whole reality show thing.
Monica has been working with Salaam Remi on her new album; "New Life" which is supposed to be in stores this summer. Salaam Remi has worked with Amy Winehouse most notably. I also read that she may be working with Diane Warren; who she's worked with in the past. A while back I mentioned Polow Da Don and Chris Brown. Looks like the album is shaping up quite nicely.

1. Family Business (AKA “Family Business Theme”) - Brandy, Ray J, Willie & Sonja NorwoodSpeaking of label deals; I hear that Olivia(formerly of G-Unit) is signed to Universal Records. She recently released a video for the song; "December" and you definitely might of missed it because I didn't post it here. Usually I only post video links from YouTube or Worldstarhiphop and if its not from one of those two; I won't be posting it. I think every blogger has their own little set of rules for running their blog. Anyway you can also see Olivia every Monday on VH1's "Love & Hip Hop".

Krayzie Bone Leaves Bone Thugs & Harmony
It's a sad day! Don't you agree? I'm being sarcastic. Bone Thugs is cool with me. A lot of their music used to scare me especially that whole "Bloody Mary" or "Bloody Murder" song they had.
I remember being in gym class in elementary and we would have free days. We were able to listen to music and this other student brought in the Bone Thugs cassette(showing my age) and a song came on and another student got scared and ran out of the gym. It was that "Bloody Murder" song or whatever it was called. I was a scaredy cat when I was younger. I couldn't watch anything scary or listen to anything that gave me bad thoughts.

Beyonce's New Single Titled Revealed
It was mentioned beforehand that the single was titled; "Girl" but the full title is "Girls(Who Rule The World)". I heard the nine second preview and the song reminds me of a girl power anthem and just further expands Beyonce's views as a feminist.
Estelle has called on Rick Ross to grace her new single; "Break My Heart" from her upcoming album "All Of Me". Sean Garrett is one of the producers on the album which will be in stores very soon.
The Game claims that once Dr. Dre finally finishes up work on "Detox" that he will lend his hand for Game's album; "The R.E.D. Album". Both albums have been pushed back more than Ne-Yo's hairline; I'm sorry I couldn't resist.
I realize that certain artists have become so dependent in their careers. They have to have someone else guiding them or making decisions. Their judgement or opinion must not be good enough or maybe they just need assurance. I'm not just talking about Game; I've noticed this with other artists as well. It just seems like there are all these excuses for why both of these albums haven't been released. That goes back to the whole two, three singles being released before the album gets released. It ends up just killing the buzz and momentum of the album.

http://www.soulja.net/2011/03/world-exclusive-lil-wayne-tha-carter-iv-tracklist-leaked/
Today, we’ve spoken to one of our exclusive sources who has contacts inside of Universal Motown Group which distributes content for Cash Money Records and Young Money Entertainment. As you may or may have not known, weeks ago Lil Wayne has announced that he has completed his album and has been sent off to his label for preparation ahead of the May 16 album release where he could beat his highly popular sales of 1,005,000 for Tha Carter III as his album is extremely hyped up across the world.
We are very close with the source however they are still new to us, so we are not entirely sure whether the tracklist is accurate and for this reason we advise you do not rely too much on this information until we have confirmed it with another source.
Our source tells us, “Lil Wayne’s label have been working hard on choosing the songs which will make the album as Wayne has produced over 50 tracks which need to be put down to between 16-20. The tracklist has a high likelihood of being changed but some or most of the tracks will probably still be there.”
From what we’ve seen, the track names and collaborations do make sense as Wayne has released “6 Foot 7 Foot” and “If I Die Today” which are confirmed to be on the album with people such as Birdman, Drake, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, Game, Bon Iver, Eminem and even Wiz Khalifa has made it on to the album (Wayne did do a “Black and Yellow” remix for the recent superbowl) but other than Wiz & Bon Iver, the features are kind of expected which is kind of disappointing – but then again, Wayne isn’t one to surprise. The tracks seem related to his last year from his prison, release and Young Money success from Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday to Drake’s Thank Me Later. Tracks such as “Lustful”, “If I Die Today”, “No Trust”, “Bigger Than Life” and “Hard Talk” seem to be talking about his problems or concerns that have been created from prison and “Team Player”, “They Love Me”, “Maybe She Will” and “Too Sour” talks about his team and enemies and “6 Foot 7 Foot”, “Fore Play”, “Fast Lane”, “Bigger Than Life” and “Another Day” are just some other tracks which talk about other things.
The album tracklist is as follows as we have received it:
Album Tracklist
1. Tune This
2. Team Player – feat. Birdman
3. Fore Play
4. They Love Me – feat. Drake & Nicki Minaj
5. John (If I Die Today) – feat. Rick Ross
6. No Competition
7. Holy Grail (History) – feat. Kanye West
8. Carter Cash – feat. Jay-Z
9. 6 Foot 7 Foot – feat. Corey Gunz
10. Play My Game – feat. Tech N9ne
11. Anne – feat. Swizz Beatz
12. Street Life
13. Hard Talk – feat. Bon Iver & Game
14. Fall From Grace – feat. Eminem
15. Brain Dead – feat. Gucci Mane
16. No Trust
17. Maybe She Will – feat. Drake & Rick Ross
18. My Legacy
UPDATE: We’ve received word by our other source a slightly different tracklist who are claimed to be close with Universal Distribution, the firm owned by Universal that’s responsible for the final production of Wayne’s Carter IV. They said that these tracks are existant, and Wayne has made more tracks than the album will have so they may claim those songs may be released in a deluxe edition, mixtape or future album which Wayne will decide with his label.

Queen Latifah To Host Mary J. Blige Fundraiser
Hip-Hop star/actress Queen Latifah will team with Mary J. Blige's FFAWN organization to co-host the Second Annual Mary J. Blige Honors Concert.
Mary J. and Queen Latifah will be joined by Elle magazine's Editor-in-Chief Robbie Meyers as hosts of concert, which will be held in honor of the 2011 FFAWN scholarship recipients.
Legendary musician Patrice Rushen will conduct performances by a star-studded cast that includes Christina Aguilera, Anita Baker, Jennifer Hudson, Jill Scott and Corinne Bailey Rae.
In 2010, Mary J.'s non-profit, which stands for the Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now, has helped send 25 young women to college with full, four-year scholarships.
To date, all 25 young women remain enrolled and have maintained the minimum requirement of a 3.0 GPA.
Eight of the young women made the dean's list in their first semester according to reps for FFAWN, which found founded by Mary J. Blige and industry exec/mogul Steve Stoute.
Proceeds from the concert, which is sponsored by Gucci and the Urban Zen Foundation, will benefit FFAWN's scholarship fund that helps young women succeed through training and education.
The Second Annual Mary J. Blige Honors concert takes place on May 1st at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
I think what's most surprising about this is that Christina Aguilera is performing at the event. In the past Mary J. Blige had publicly denounced Christina Aguilera for her rude behavior. Well apparently Mary must not hold any more ill feelings towards the singer and I guess that's good.

Buzz Single vs. First Single
With R&B and Hip Hop album releases; there are usually two singles or even three that are released before the album is released. It's the latest procedure labels abide by. It is to ensure that there is an adequate amount of attention for an album before its released. This is something the labels do to build the hype around their upcoming releases. This works to their advantage sometime but most of the time it doesn't. Instead of releasing certain albums during the first singles(or buzz singles) peak(on the charts); the label will release another single or two and by then the buzz will have fizzled out. It usually results in the album performing poorly on the charts or being poorly received by fans, consumers, and critics.
Depending on how an initial single is received(commercially and critically) determines whether its consider a first single or a buzz single. Even though there already is planned releases; those plans quickly change. If the song is not received well; meaning it charts low or doesn't chart at all; it will be labeled a buzz single; even if the single has a video and all. The first single is normally attributed to whichever single does relatively well in some sort of capacity. Sometimes differentiating the buzz and first single is simply to save face and/or embarrassment of failure. I mean hey it happens.
I think the labels and artists really need to strategically decide what the first single should really be. If they want to release a buzz single; fine then do so. Make sure that buzz single serves it purpose. If your going to go with whatever said single; the labels and artist really need to be behind it and support it. If we don't like it; force us to like it. Force it down our throats or in our faces. Milk it for all its worth. It just seems like labels and artists just give up way too fast on certain songs or don't give them the proper push.
I know some labels are adamant to do too much because they don't want to waste money. I understand but I feel the labels still have a long way to go but then again what do I know? This is just strictly my opinion but maybe you've learned something here in regards to buzz singles and first singles.

Alicia Keys Rereleases Debut Album
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of "Songs In A Minor" her debut album released in 2001. Can you believe its been that long? I remember all the hype that surrounded it and how you couldn't escape her single; "Fallin'" which personally annoyed the hell out of me. The rereleased version of "Songs" will feature a collector's edition which new liner notes and all that good stuff. Alicia will also perform an intimate concert in June titled; "Piano & I" in New York. She will also take the stage at this year's BET Awards.
Monica is working on a new album; "New Life" which is supposed to be released this summer but I can't say I've heard much else about it lately. The singer did tweet(on twitter) that she has been in the studio with Chris Brown and Polow Da Don. Maybe that means a possible duet with Chris Brown or a song written and arranged by Chris and produced by Polow Da Don. The possibilities are infinite.
Jill Scott has chosen "So In Love" as the first single from her upcoming album; "The Light Of The Sun". The song features Anthony Hamilton and it recently leaked out but I haven't heard it yet. The single; "Shame" which leaked out awhile back featuring Eve is now just a buzz single even though a video has reportedly been shot for the song.
Jill Scott's new album will be in stores sometime this summer.

Music Biz:
Teyana Taylor Involved In Studio Brawl
You can read more about that below but Teyana is reportedly dating Kanye West.
Teyana Taylor has been named as a suspect in a girl-on-girl fight that erupted after another female made remarks about Chris Brown.----------------
Law enforcement officials tell TMZ that the 20-year-old singer was at a Burbank recording studio on Saturday night when another woman said something about Teyana’s friend Brown that set her off.
The one-time “My Super Sweet 16” star allegedly got upset and punched the other girl in the face several times, knocking her to the ground. She then proceeded to kick her in the stomach and head with her boots. The victim was left with scrapes and swelling on her face.
By the time police were called, Teyana had already left the scene. Officers are still investigating the incident and are interested in speaking with Teyana, but no charges have been filed against her at this time.

Keyshia Cole Dumps Current Album For New One
Well that's what I read and I believe it. Usually when an artist album under performs; they go to work on a new one. That doesn't mean it's going to be released tomorrow but in the near future. To date Keyshia's current album, "Calling All Hearts" has only sold 268K copies. The singles from the album haven't been all that successful except for "Take Me Away" which has so far peaked at #27 on the R&B charts.
I think "Calling" is a good album but was just overlooked. I mean its not something I would listen to like that but its good for a R&B album. People are always talking about there is no good R&B or where is it but nowadays you have to search for it. It also may lie in artists you may not like much or suspect.
Janet Jackson will be returning to the studio later this year to work on a new album. The singer is currently embarking on a worldwide tour and promoting her book; "True You".
I just saw Janet in "For Colored Girls" a few days ago and I really liked it. Her part to me was small but she did do a good job as she is naturally a good actress in my opinion.
Lil' Wayne will be featured on Young Jeezy's new single; "Ballin' from his upcoming and oft-delayed album; "Thug Motivation 103". No word on when the album will come out but hopefully this will be the album to catapult the album and find it a release date.
A little while ago I was wondering what happened with this album but I should of known. Most Rap and R&B albums release a few singles before their album is initially released; that's just how it goes nowadays. It works for some artists and some it doesn't.

Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon Cover OK! Magazine
Baring a striking resemblance to the infamous Janet Jackson Rolling Stone(and later album cover) where her ex-husband cupped her breast; Mariah and Nick reveal their version. The only difference is Mariah's pregnant and she's been showing off her belly lately but then again Mariah's always showing us some type of skin. I believe Mariah is due later this month.

Trina is back with a new mixtape; "Diamonds Are Forever" and here's the video to the title track. Trina is also working on a sixth album to be released later this year. Punch Trina!

Beyonce New Single Title Revealed?
I been reading reports here and there and word is the title of Beyonce's new single is titled; "Girl" which was also the name of a Destiny's Child song. Funny huh? The song is currently undergoing the video treatment where dozens of video hopefuls showed up hoping for their chance at fame. When will we hear this single? Probably sooner than later. Stay tuned.
Rihanna's single; "S&M" is being remixed and its to feature contemporary Britney Spears and the song is supposed to leak as early as Monday. You can only imagine the fever pitch has been gained from this news. Rihanna and Britney is currently a Trending Topic on twitter. Makes perfect sense though.
Jim Jones is not happy with the estimated sales of his new album; "Capo" which was released last week(April 5). Jones currently stars in the VH1 show; "Love & Hip Hop". To me though starring in a reality TV show is not enough. I haven't seen any promo but then again I can hardly keep up with every news story.
I feel if you feel strongly about your album; then get out there and support it and make us believe its worth buying. Oh and for the estimated sales; its 18K units. Then again what was he expecting. He should be happy its even going to sell that. I don't want to say too much because I don't want to get roughed up Somaya's manager did on "Love & Hip Hop" by Jones and crew! Ha!

Throwback Video: 7 Mile - Do Your Thing
Mariah Carey was responsible for this group and signing them to her shortly lived label; Crave Records which also housed the female group; Allure; I believe I have my info right.
I remember being a freshman in high school when this song was released and I liked it instantly but I don't think many people caught on but then again maybe they did.
Producer Spotlight: Troy Oliver
Once again I was cruising some liner notes of some albums that I own and I came across Troy Oliver. I see he produced a significant amount of important music from a certain period. You will see a few of those songs below as I'm only able to find so many songs on certain producers.
A little about Troy; he is a native of New Haven, Connecticut. He is a self taught musician who specializes in playing nearly every instrument known to man. His work with another producer; Cory Rooney led to his production placement most notably on albums by Jennifer Lopez before expanding over into other realms. Check out his discography below:

Producer Spotlight: Teddy Bishop
I was looking through some liner notes of some albums and I came across producer Teddy Bishop. Finally; a producer who I hadn't spotlighted yet because I was seriously running out of ideas. Never fear though!
Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia; Teddy got his start as an upstart to LaFace Records working under Teddy Riley. During his tenure at LaFace he produced for Toni Braxton most notably and over the years his productions has topped the charts or simply earned him placement on a variety of platinum and gold albums from R&B's elite. Check out his discography below:

Throwback Video: Toni Braxton Featuring Loon - Hit The Freeway
I'm a big fan of The Neptunes and like 95% of their productions even if I didn't care for the particular artist. I've always loved their beats and melodies. Toni Braxton's "Hit The Freeway" is no exception and while this song wasn't a hit nor was any song from this album; the album "More Than A Woman", released in 2002 still went Gold.
Christina Milian & The-Dream Back Together?
There are pictures and reports that suggest that the couple who were once married are back together. So I wonder does this mean The-Dream will produce and record some more songs for Christina Milian's upcoming album; "Elope". One can only wonder.
Gucci Mane has been arrested yet again. I don't think this man can catch a break. The rapper who is currently on probation was charged for allegedly pushing a woman out of a moving vehicle. Maybe it was some groupie who was yapping her gums too much. Ya never know!
I know my nephew who is 18 is a fan of Gucci Mane and he used to drive my sister wild playing his music in the house. It just pains me when people such as my nephew who is 18 look up to these rappers who are always getting arrested especially for dumb stuff. I guess its another case of life imitating art.
The tracklisting for Jennifer Lopez's new album; "LOVE?" has just been released; then again it may of been out for awhile. Eve To Release New Album This Fall
According the rapper that's when we can expect a new album from her. In the meantime she will drop a few buzz singles over the summer. You can currently heare Eve on two new songs; Jill Scott's "Shame" and Swizz Beat's "Coolin".
I'm not a big fan of Eve's but I'm looking forward to see what she will do this time.
It looks like Faith Evans won't be starring in the biopic of the late singer; Florence Ballard; one third of the famed group; The Supremes. Apparently everyone involved has dropped out of the project. There are claims that the producers of the biopic were "crooked" and "fraudulent". Stay tuned for more news on this as this is rumored to get even more juicy.
For the 54th Grammy Awards expect a major shakeup in the number of categories as the number of categories has been dropped from 109 to 78. A lot of categories have been eliminated such as the male and female categories for R&B vocal performance. Instead there will just be one category where the males will compete with the females. The same can be said for the Pop categories. The R&B/Hip Hop categories have been dropped down to four categories respectively.
The Grammy committee feels that the breakdown of categories will make the competition tougher for perspective artists to get nominated. Now I'm not sure how many nominees will dominate each category though.

Jeremih Almost Got Dropped From Def Jam
Well that was until the 50 Cent assisted; "Down On Me" was released and hit the Pop top 10. The song was his saving grace and he has 50 Cent to thank for that. I'm not a fan of the song per say but I know a lot of people who do like it.
Simply put; Jeremih is a singles artists as all his singles do pretty good. I mean R&B is not selling like that anyway and Def Jam knows that. Personally I would keep him around cause he is still making the label money unlike artists who release singles and their not hits at all!
Musiq has chosen "Yes" as the second single off his upcoming album, "MusiqInTheMagiq" in stores and online May 3. The album also features the first single; "Anything" featuring Swizz Beats which is one of my favorites right now. This is the first Musiq album I'm looking forward to; oddly enough. I've liked his songs over the years but never got into any of his album as a whole.
I was just reading that Ester Dean's hit; "Drop It Low" featuring Chris Brown was originally meant for Ciara but she passed on it. Britney Spears also passed on the song so the songwriter/producer recorded the song and the rest is history.
Its always interesting to read these little tidbits about which songs were originally for who and who turned it down.

Mary J. Blige Featuring Diddy & Lil' Wayne - Someone To Love Me(Naked) Music Video
I can't say it enough but I'm loving this song and the video is pretty hot too. If you read the post below; you can get a little more info on Mary's upcoming album.
50 Cent Calling Out Lloyd Banks?
50 Cent seems to be conjuring up more controversy in a new freestyle where is allegedly taking stabs at G-Unit members and comrades; Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo. Now I haven't heard the song and really not that interested but you never know with 50. Some people think he is just fooling around or he could be serious.
I know Lloyd Banks has been doing this thing outside G-Unit; I think just trying to expand his repertoire by working with other artists.
Lil' Wayne owes 5.6 million dollars to the IRS. The money is owed from money accumulated through 2008 and 2009. Word is that Wayne is trying to sell his Miami home for 12 million dollars.
Meanwhile Lil' Wayne just released his new single; "John" featuring Rick Ross off the upcoming album; "The Carter IV" in stores and online May 16.
September 20 is the release date for the new Mary J. Blige album; "My Life II: The Journey Continues". The album is said to be a throwback to the original classic album and features production from Johnta Austin, Kanye West, and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis.
I'm loving first single; "Someone To Love Me(Naked)" featuring Diddy & Lil' Wayne. I don't know how I feel about the album title though. I know the first single's response has been a mixed bag but like I said I personally love it!

Beyonce New Album Details Emerge
More info; well a little more is starting to be revealed about Beyonce's upcoming untitled album which now has a working release date of late June. There was a report that the singer played select album tracks to the international execs at Sony. The new music has already been described as "epic" and "groundbreaking". We shall wait and here.
There have been some pictures that leaked out of Beyonce on the set of a video reportedly for her first single which we've yet to hear yet. Word is though the new single drops this month.
Another artist dropping an album this year is Canada's own; Tamia. It's been five years since her last album; 2006's "Between Friends". The upcoming untitled album is slated to be released in the next few months. I read that a gospel song produced by Shep Crawford(worked with Deborah Cox) will be featured on the album. The album's first single should be released soon so be on the look out for that!
According to the pictures I saw; Monica may make a guest stint on NBC's upcoming music show; "The Voice" which features Christina Aguilera and Cee-Lo. I think that would be nice if is true. The show looks okay but I don't think I'll be able to see it since I'll be working.
