Erykah Badu Is Releasing A New Album!

I remember when Erykah Badu first came out with 'On & On', me and my best friend at the time were hooked. I had my grandmother buy me Erykah's debut, 'Baduizm' and I remember letting my best friend borrow it and he scratched my case. I was pissed! Those were the days!

I was a fan but I think after 'Worldwide Underground' she kind of lost me or I just saw myself not interested in her anymore.

Erykah Badu previewed her fifth studio album New Amerykah Part II: Return of the Ankh at a listening session at Chung King Studios in New York City on Wednesday (Dec. 9). The sequel to last year’s New Amerykah Part One: 4th World War is due in February. Corinne Bailey Rae, Dame Dash, Universal Motown’s Sylvia Rhone, and Erykah’s baby’s father Jay Electronica burned incense with the soul singer at the intimate event.
KeKe Wyatt Returns!
It's been eight years, and soul music fans are chomping at the bit to hear new music by KeKe Wyatt. The KeKe drought ends on February 23, 2010, with the Shanachie Entertainment release of KeKe's highly anticipated new CD, Who Knew? Wyatt rose to fame at age 16 with her duet with Avant on "My First Love" and her hot 2001 debut album Soul Sister. Fans have been anxiously waiting ever since for her sophomore album."We are extremely excited to be bringing out KEKE'S new music," states Shanachie Entertainment General Manager and Head of A&R, Randall Grass. "She is one of the outstanding singers of her generation and is recognized as a true singer. KEKE achieved success at a young age and now she is poised for even greater success."We've heard an advance of Who Knew? and it is hot. An album principally looking at relationships via a number of strong ballads and upbeat numbers, it should connect in a big way with adult soul audiences.
Gangsta Boo Arrested!
The Memphis rap artist known as Gangsta Boo has been charged in connection with the armed robbery of a Dollar General Store in Olive Branch, Mississippi.

Lola Chanterelle Mitchell is charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Olive Branch police say she and another suspect, Marcus Curtis, allegedly robbed the store at Nichols and Hacks Cross on July 23.

Major Tim Presley said a male suspect confronted a female clerk at gunpoint outside the store.

"Then the female clerk and the male clerk were ordered to put the cash from the safe in the register in shopping bags," Presley said.

After ordering the clerks to lie down on the floor, the male robber fled on foot.

Curtis was arrested on December 4 by the Shelby County Sheriff's Department. He is charged with armed robbery.

Olive Branch police say the weapon used in the robbery was tied to another crime, which lead to Curtis' capture.

"The gun used in the case was somewhat unique and had tied into another crime," Presley said.

The investigation then led to Mitchell. Investigators believe she conspired with Curtis in the robbery, but they're not sure to what extent.

Mitchell is also known as "Lady Boo" in the world of rap music. Most commonly associated with the Memphis-based group Three 6 Mafia, Mitchell was an original member in the early 1990's.

Mitchell turned herself in to Olive branch authorities Tuesday after a warrant was issued for her arrest. She was released on $100,000 bond, and will appear in court on January 5.

Curtis was extradited from Memphis and booked Wednesday into the DeSoto County Jail on $100,000 bail.
