May 2008 - A Look Back

May was truly a month to remember. There was definitely an overabundance of lawsuits as you will see as you read below. Can these artists ever catch a break? One can only hope that June is a much friendlier month for some of these artists. Take a look back at all the lawsuits, deaths, and births that plagued the month of May!

Lil' Wayne pleads not guilty to weapon and drug possession charges.
DMX arrested for speeding and reckless driving; pleads not guilty to drug and animal cruelty charges.
Carmelo Anthony cited with speeding ticket.
Foxy Brown pleads guilty to beating a woman with a Blackberry; avoids jail time for time served.
The Notorious B.I.G.'s unsolved murder case is reinstated.
R. Kelly finally begins his long-awaited trail for child-molestation; lawyers try and block early start of trail.
Remy Ma sentenced to 8 years in prison; Papoose thrown out of jail for having skeleton key.
Spliff Star arrested for suspicion of drug possession.
Lil' Kim awarded $500,000 from lawsuit stemming from Lil' Cease unauthorized use of her name on DVD.
Lou Pearlman (responsible for discovering N'Sync) is sentenced to 25 years in jail.
Kanye West, Common, and Method Man are sued over the unlicensed use of a music sample from a late jazz composer.
Eddie Griffin sued for assault after production manager claims comedian beat him for booking his mother in a cheap motel.
Lil' Wayne sued for copyright infringment.

Comedian Harvey Korman known for his work on "The Carol Burnett Show" dies at age 81.

Angelina Jolie pregnant with twins due August 19.
Tameka "Tiny" Cottle of Xscape aka T.I. baby mama gives birth.
Clay Aiken and Jaymes Foster expecting child in August.
Babyface and girlfriend expecting child; third for Babyface.
